In the market for an MSP3 08.5

Hello all,

I am new to the forums but have been following the mazdaspeed3 since it came out. I was about to buy one a year ago around this same time but due to financial burdens, I walked away from the dealership.

Now I am ready to purchase a mazdaspeed3. I've been doing the whole internet price wars for several dealerships in Southern California.

I'm looking for a 2008.5 Grand Touring in CWP, no navi/sat.

The lowest offer I have is $23,734 including destination, before TTL.

Labor day weekend is coming up; I'm thinking they might be able to offer me better. What do you guys think?

Regards.

Sorry, I dont have any info on pricing. I just wanted to chime in as I can relate a bit to you. Before I bought my Forester a year and a half ago I actually test drove a MS3 right before driving the Forester I ended up buying. I really liked it but the dealer was asking $27,xxx and it was used!

I do think your offer for $23,734 is pretty good.

shop tomorrow and saturday on the internet. email as many dealers as possible and ONLY speak to the internet department. tell them you're shopping, but want to buy a vehicle this weekend.

FIND OUT WHAT THEY HAVE ON THE LOT and whether or not your car is one of them. if it's not on the lot, don't go to that dealer. they will lie, cheat and steal in order to get you to come in, just to tell you they have to dealer trade for the vehicle.

this is ok, BUT when this happens most dealers will try and charge a different price than what was quoted.

i sold cars for about 18 months.

Thank you for the quick feedback guys.

You're right about the dealer trade bs philly. Here is a email conversation I had with one of the internet ppl:

"That's funny that they sent you that quote, because it's our car that we have here. If you take a look at the last 6 digits I put next to our quote, it matches the last 6 of the VIN they gave you. It's our car, that we have on our lot.

The price we gave you on the vehicle is very competitive, and they will not be able to get the car from us. "

I got a quote from another dealer (long beach) said they would do it for $23,595. But the vehicle was from this dealer that emailed me above (tuttle-click). I sent long beach back an e-mail with this info and I want to see how he responds.

i'm curious as well.
i USED to go to galpin mazda, hahaha...i have never seen a white one sitting on the lot. OR metro gray

Was that price for a Sport or Grand Touring? I bought a 2008.5 Mazdaspeed3 GT with Nav, Homelink, Sirius, basically loaded... for $24,869 on 8-26-08

@OP, I bought mine 2 days ago (exact specs as you) for $23,005 (destination included) before TTL. they even included lumar ceramic tint.

the next lowest offer was right at invoice of $23,400 (again destination included).

also, some people forget the CWP cost about $172 more because of the "crystal" in the paint.

I assume no Nav or Homelink with that price?

correct. no extra options, not even wheel locks. although I noticed I had floor mats, not sure it that comes with the grand touring stock or not. regardless, it wasn't on the bill.

thank you for all the feed back guys,

the lowest price i've been offered is:

$23,634.00

for the CWP 2008.5 Mazdaspeed3 Grand Touring - with floor mats..i'm gonna get the wheel locks too damnit.

+TTL here in california brings the grand total to: $25763.65 OTD

i would suggest getting any options like wheel locks, mats, etc...from some of the mazdadealers vendors here.

it will be cheaper and no tax most likely.

ex. wheel locks, i picked up for $31.20

man.. under 24k for the gt is good i think.. i bought mine when it first came out and paid damn near 27k OTD. shoulda waited.. but i dont regret it at all. i love my car too much. jump on that offer. i say anything under 24k is good.

Seems like $24,500 otd for a GT without nav is the number to shoot for. That's what I'm gonna do. Plus, with the car no longer being limited, a better deal may be able to be worked, especially if they offer the juicy financing in a couple months.

galpin mazda is shady. They won't give me an internet quote and say they have the car in stock. I ask them for vin numbers but they're like we'll beat anyone's quote just bring it in and talk to my manager!

Regarding long beach mazda's response, all he said in the e-mail was "maybe" it's the same one.

Anyways, I'm going to look at the CWP tomorrow morning at the place offering me 23634.00. Let's see where it goes from there.

good luck.
galpin is huge. not the biggest mazda dealer, but a huge dealership and a big name here too obviously. they will tell you whatever they want. what they want, is for you to come in willing to buy a vehicle. galpin DOESN'T ***** cars out though. at least, not to my understanding. i have a friend who worked at galpin honda for about a year in the internet department. honda is different than all the other galpins though, it's not ford and honda probably asks that galpin runs s*** differently,,,

anyway, good luck

**** Galpin dude. they lied to me on several occasions about pricing and wasted my time and money.

i went to star mazda of glendale and got $500 off MSRP which isn't the greatest deal ever but they were awesome.

do you have buyer's remorse already?
do you think you could have got a better deal?
hahahaha, man i hate buying big things

Not at all...I'm loving my MS3 so far. I was just curious as to what kind of deals others are getting which will get better on 2008 models as more 2009 models pile up at dealerships...

I was so extremely close to buying it this morning, but decided to hold off for an 09. I only did 2 nights of internet price wars. I bet I could get the same deal for an 09 if I did more research. Thank you for all the help guys, I'll keep you updated :)
