In market for 2014 touring, should I get upgraded Bose?

Hearing some negatives on the upgraded Bose System (9 speaker). I am looking at a 14 Touring, would it be better to just not get the Bose upgrade? Think the touring comes w/a basic 6 speaker setup. Couldn't I just purchase better aftermarket speakers and save some cash in the process?

I think the bose/roof option is like eleven hundred-ish.

Thanks

The Bose system is ok, but I haven't compared it to the standard system. I mostly wanted the moonroof, and the Bose was an added incentive. My main complaint with the stereo in general is not the sound quality, but the iPod issues that I'm sure you've read up on. If not, start reading. The issue is well documented here on this forum.

My advise is: Get the Bose and sunroof. Don't try to do any DIY installation that requires removing door panels etc.

Why its 2 screws to remove the doors. Couldn't be simpler. The sound quality I've gotten from my budget $150 polk system sounds just as good as the 10 speaker Bose in my 2010 Mazda 3.

I wanted the Tech Package because of the HID lights, so Moonroof/Bose was mandatory for the package.
I'm not a big car audio guy, but I do like to listen to my music loud. I think the Bose audio is fine. (2014 Touring just bought on Sunday)

The Bose system cranks pretty well, much better than the standard system.

I'd say the way to think about the package is this .... how badly do you want a moonroof? The bose is just the icing on the cake because let's face it, the bose won't knock your socks off, but it is better than the stock system. So if you really want a moonroof, go for it!

Yeah, the lights are the best part of the package (or packages, since you have to get both) :)

I drove around in my parent's car and turning off CenterPoint seemed to make the audio sound much better (IMO). I think I read from other people on here that they also preferred to disable it as well. YMMV as I believe how well it works depends on the source.

Yeah, CenterPoint is only enabled and can only be turned on/off when a high quality source is being played (CD and USB depending on device)

"Centerpoint*5
Centerpoint offers you the experience of 5.1-channel surround sound in your vehicle even with your conventional 2-channel stereo CDs. Centerpoint can be set on or off."
