In dash CD changer problems (Bose)...Already!

Get to the dealer pronto. Its better you get those cd's back. A cheepy deck is less than 90 bux (boom03)
? The faceplate alone goes for $100 easy used on ebay. Only 3 options for aftermarket decks in the 6. 1st way involves cutting and bondo, 2nd is the turbo 2 dash replacement, and last is the japanparts.com piece that replaces the top console on the dash.

This is a normal occurance with the changers. IIRC the changer is universal with few other vehicles so don't assume the MPV one will outlast the one you currently have.

update...

I just got back from the dealer. They could not get my CDs out. However, they removed the changer and are sending it back to the manufacturer for repair. I should get it and my CDs back within 2 weeks.

I'm worried now that I'm going to have more problems with it, but it seems that there are few options so I will end up continuing to replace them. Luckily I'm under extended warranty so it will only cost $100, but I'll be out of that in a year or so.

Was your changer repaired or replaced? Mine is supposedly being repaired, so they said that the CDs should come back with it. (hopefully)

I had a similar problem with mine in the Protege, I pulled it apart and got my CD's back and replaced the HU.

mazda techs refuse to open the damn things for some odd reason.

I can get 'em out. Pretty easy really. I trashed my changer though. It didn't work anyway, even before it wouldn't eject the CDs.

They got them out! I don't know how, but when I got to work this morning there was a message on my voice mail from the dealer saying that they got them out before they sent the changer back. Woohoo!

wow thats a 1st! someone upstairs must have been looking out for you :)

I have the changer and haven't had a problem yet, i've had the car for a little over 2 years now. Hopefully its not waiting to keel over on me.

actually i noticed something here ... it seems that my bose system is scratching up my cds??? just one day, i turned on my car and the music came out really scratchy ... so i took the cd out of the cd changer and much to my surprise i see that there were many scratches on the cd itself ... the thing is though that I burned that cd only about a couple weeks before that time ... any ideas?

is there a label on the cd?

whens the last time you used a cleaning CD thru your changer?

My player sucks too.

I know this thread is kind of old but just recently (maybe 3 weeks ago) my Bose 6 CD Changer stopped working too. My car is a little over a year old and my problem is the player itself. It loads and ejects CD's but it won't play them. The radio works fine but the player just wont read the discs. I've been playing mostly burned CD's so maybe that has something to do with it?

it could be.. have you ever seen black CDR's? memorex makes them. I use them and they play even in the most finnicky cd players.. give it a shot!
