import vs. corvette

I don't know if you guys remember that show on MTV from a while back called "Dead at 21"...he had the ragtop GTO in that. That's when I started liking the Gas Tires Oil. :D

I don't have the article in front of me, but i just might be able to give you a point of reference. If you read the c&d's new boost magazine. If you look at the car they figure in the cost of labor in the price, along with the stupid graphics (which were surprisingly not cheap), and all the body mods, which are even more expensive. A well built civic will survive many times around the track. Mine sure did, and this was pretty much untuned running off of someone elses maps for our AEM unit.

As for why those civics weren't in those tests. Well most people like my build it up for themselves and don't market it. I don't know anyone who buys the jackson supercharger kits or expensive things like that. Something tells me c&d won't put a non name brand kit/car in, theres just nothing in it for them. I mean when was the last time you saw a modded car in there that was actually put together by the owner. Thats reserved for turbo mag, scc, etc etc.
The JR Supercharger is for people that use there car daily driven. Its a joke IMO. Compared to a turbo of simliar cost, the turbo will win everyday. Its good for a do it yourselfer that wants alittle more umff for there car but nothing crazy.
My allmotor sol would own the JR Supercharged Hondas around Omaha. I remember the when I first got the LS Vtec done in my sol, went out and reced a friend who had a B16/modded with a JR supercharger. After I got done spankin him 3 times, he was like you got NOS don't you. I said nope, opned the trunk and hood. The look on his face was priceless. he couldn't say anything cept Damn.
Again, a Z06 is a great car, but a Honda can be made to do what the Z06 does for 50K, cept the Top spd thing. The Honda isn't shapped for that. Everything else, with wisely spent money, the civic could do it.

I had a JR kit on my D15B7, it ran mid 14's, ran great. The problem with JRSC kits is the lack of tunning. There aren't alot of options for tunning and most people assume that the FMU will be good enough.

With a good looking body, I wouldn't mind the new GTO, but the body is ugly. Period. And yeah, before anybody says it, that is just my opinion, but I'm sticking to it. I dont like them.
Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the body either....its too plain. But the drift car in c&d is pretty nice. I wouldn't have everything that is on the drift car (borderline rice) but the ground effects are nice. Also, I would like somethings on my car that aren't on the drift car.....sound deadening matterial, air conditioning, more than one seat. Maybe I'm just spoiled.
