I'm getting a new PC!

You should get that thing or a scaled down version in your P5.

If I can find sponsorship I am installing a full sytem with VIdeoconferencing capability and touch panel control.

(thought) And that just gave me an awesome idea! I'll build a small bookcase PC and subscribe to wireless internet and take it on the road in my P5! I feel a project coming on! (thought)

Let me know if you need my advise with car electronics. Thats my area of expertise.

I just re priced the same PC now that all the offers are over, over $1600. I paid under $1300 with shipping.

Hey Kooldino, Is $750 a good price for a 19" viewable LCD monitor? Regarding the fact you don't like them ofcoarse.

It all depends on the spec of that monitor. I went to a LAN party this weekend and saw some NICE 17" LCDs that cost around $700. No significant ghosting, sharp image, and it only looked moderately crappy if you chanced the res to below native res. The motion on it was decent as well. Supposedly, this is the nicest one around for a home user. I'd still take my CRT over it, but in 2+ years when I want to replace my primary monitor, LCD's might be "there" enough to be worth considering. Right now I'd only want one as a portable, spare monitor...or for a 2nd display.

One of the guys who had the 17" LCD at the LAN said that they make a 19" version of the same monitor. He said he bought it, but returned it the next day...because the quality wasn't nearly as good.

So basically, don't get the 19" LCD for $750, as it won't be nearly as good as the 17". If you wanna lay out that kind of cash for an LCD, I'll get you the model # of my friend's LCD.

Uh no....I gave up dial-up 3 years ago. I'm on the fat pipe with Earthlink DSL. As for the radiator, my overclocking project will involve water cooling. As for its purpose? Oh just about everything under the sun is done on this baby.
Gaming, DVD rip, mp3 rip, gaming,Web hosting, web design, gaming, remote monitoring of work servers. Did I mention gaming??

Yeah, DVD ripping definitely takes some CPU power. Like MAD. How long does it take you to rip in that? What water cooling rig are you going with? Honestly, Unless you're REALLY looking to push it, that chip doesn't NEED water cooling...as I'm sure you already know. People do NICE OC's with stock cooling.

To throw in my 2 cents on the LCD, I've got the ViewSonic VA800 (18" viewable). I like it's compact size. It has a great picture. It's got excellent refresh. It's not as good as my ViewSonic 21" CRT, but it doesn't take up a quarter of an acre on my desktop like the CRT. LOL

I haven't ripped a DVD in a while because....there ARE no good DVDs lately! I'll get you the times when I rip SW:EP2 and LOTR SE when they come out Nov. 12

I just saw Koolance has this nice EXOS system that I want to try on my rig. I'm still a sceptic when it comes to adding water to an "electrical environment". Call me strange?

I will say that water cooling will almost eliminate the need for LOUD fans in the machine for cooling. The only fans that will be required will be on the radiator unit of the water cooler. I've decided to add a dye to the coolant to add some freaky color to the system.

The 19" panel is the Viewsonic VG900b.
We are dealers for viewsonic. To be honest I get the 19" for less then $700. I can sell them for $750.

Or you could go phase change...

Well, if you get your hands on one to tinker with...and YOU'RE happy with it, then go for it. It's only really worth getting if you're tight on space or you're gonna move it a lot tho.

Dude, I got my dell.
Very cool system so far. Very quick and quiet.
Anyone have some game recomendations.
