oh....i would try to call them and return it cuz that is def. not a new unused filter

normally theres some..SOME, oil residue on the inside but not all that black s***
return it and do not use that on your car

i just called and talked to someone saying that it came straight from the factory and was unopened. he said send pics to ********** market?

Call them back and tell them you want to return it and obtain credit on your card. I'm sure they will work with you. You definitely do not want that crap going into the intake tract.

It looks like some sort of potting compound or epoxy that they didn't let set up before shipping it.

i just got mine. on the inside i have the black shiny epoxy but it is nice and smooth. I also have a black rubber/plastic cap on the end not the white/grey shown in your pic

im glad to be the idiot of the day but its just a sticker to protect the chrome cap... (hand)and i take to chris at cpe and he said to just take a paper towel and remove the excess oil.
