So here is the story. I bought a protege sedan back in 2005. That ended up lasting me till 2008. Then i decided to go Honda which was a huge mistake. I always wanted a Honda del sol swapped. I bought one with a GSR swap in it and it was a decent car till 3 days later the engine went. The garage i took it 2 took 4 months to rebuild it and by then the struts, fuel lines, and breaks went to s***. I had that all replaced and then the cabin wire harness cought on fire because the people that did the rebuild didn't ground a lot of wires. So i got that fixed. After that once June hit my timing belt went. I had it with the car so i started out on a quest to get another Mazda. Ended up getting a 2002 protege 5 in Midnight Blue Mica with 94000 miles with a full tuneup. I have to say i don't know why i ever went Honda and i will never will again. I love my protege and i will post pics tomorrow of it. I have only had it for 8 hours and i already am more pleased then i have been in forever. I got the car for 5000. So i am back and so happy! BTW my signature is of my old dx. will be changed tomorrow also

Welcome back!....dont beleive the vtech hype...

need pics of the p5.. any plans for it?

plans wise i first want to fix the small dent in the back i got a good quote to fix it. 300 for it is good. i got a night shot done tonight i will post but its horrible quality done by my phone. i also want to get my cd player in and subs soon. After that some exhaust, cold air intake and single runner intake i have from my old protege. Also still have my t3/t4 kit from my old protege that i wanted to install but never did, but i am gonna wait on that and buy a new block and built from the ground up.

In all honesty it sounds like a big portion of your honda issues were by the previous owner and shotty work done to it. With that said welcome back to the mazda world.

I traded in my old p5 in for my currenty MSP. Lets just say I want to get another p5 and keep my msp dispite all the issues that im having with it right now. Grant it all the issues I have now with it are caused by previous owner beating the snot out of it and shotty mech work.

Why is your sig a sedan but you stated a wagon? Any plans for mods? FI or going to stick NA? stick or auto?

Edit: You posted while I was typing this.

oh its stick and the sedan is my old protege. i just haven't been on here in forever. so i haven't changed that sig. I really don't know what is the plan with the car is right now but most likely Na just don't know what money i have to put into it since i am getting married soon. But i would really like to get some light and nice rims that look like the racing hearts,

If your going NA get a header.. best mod I did on my p5! Even with the rest of the exhaust stock!

Should i rap the header? and what else can i get decent gains with? like cams or something?

right out of the box without losing any low end would be the header... the cams it all depends and you would need a tuen to get the most out of it. Wrapping the header I think is a personal choice... if you dont wrap the header wipe down the header after you install it to remove any oils from your hands during installation so it doesnt burn in and look funky.

im not to sure because i do not have much experience with them but i know from other people that the racing harts are not that light. i believe they weigh something like 23 pouunds and the slow up accelaration considerably due to all that unsprung weight. the stock ones aer only 16 pounds, which is my reason for never gettin different rims. its really hard to beat that! but those racing harts sure do look good!!!

The Racing Harts do look good especially in the 03.5 finish...mmmm but the weight is what turns me off. About a year ago I bought 06 MX-5 wheels that weigh in a tick under 16lbs so I'm not complaining.

If weight is an issue there are some nice FD wheels f/s in the f/s section by a member named Rogue. These are 16x8 and fit nicely and weigh in around 16lbs as well.

And congrats on the P5 purchase.

yeah i know the racing hearts are heavy as hell but i am looking for the same size rims at that sort of look.

IMO the 17 x 7 is the best looking size for our cars, especially if you are considering lowering it.
If you decide to go SRI instead of CAI, here is a great generic when matched with a K&N filter,

Is that the one you got? Where did you put your air temp sensor? Or is there a hole for it somewhere?

Yes it is, i bought it used from a member on here. There is a hole in the bottom side of the piping for all your sensors and that fun stuff.

So you bought a Honda car from a jerk that didn't know what he was doing when he swapped it and all honda's are bad?Oh yea Vtec FTW!

lol yeah s*** happens but for a first experience for a Honda it doesn't make me like them.
