gears 2,3,4,5 are useless gears to leave the car in. They aren't "park" Some cars you can get away with it, but at least in the MP3, she will roll out of every gear on a steep hill, except 1st. i was bored one day, waiting for the woman....AGAIN, and played with each gear.
back in 97, I had a 97 Prelude. I dropped into work for a second, parked the car on a very tiny incline and went inside. Came out to find the car had rolled down the parking lot ( not very far ) across the Main road here, went over the next curb and stopped between two parked cars just as if I had purposely done it. She had stopped because the back wheels hit the curb at the edge of the parking lot. I was VERY lucky. Of course I got in like nothing happened and drove off.
two days later, my father takes the car, and looses it as well. Same thing, it hit a curb and stopped about 10 feet before going into a stream.
Needless to say I put the car in to get the handbrake adjusted ASAP.
Once it happens once, you will NEVER forget it.
That's most of the reason why these remote starts for standards scare me. The ones I have seen, you have to keep the car neutral all of the time. My woman's mother has one, and is always leaving the car ona hill in neutral....and it seems she's not the only one I know of doing this in town. Just scarey.
