Illuminas + Bump Stops?

Okay, I have searched the forums and got mixed results. I just put together (not installed) my new spring and suspension combo. Illuminas and Sportlines. I read the directions for both products and it mentions nothing about cutting the bump stops. I remember when I installed my S-Techs, it said to cut it in half.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I am running Mazdaspeed bump stops in the front also, not the Protege 5 (if that helps).

Thanks in advance!

Chris

I have mazdaspeed bumps all around. If you don't want to do that, I'd leave the speeds on the front and put the short P5 ones (fronts I think) in the rear.

I cut my stock P5 ones when I put my illuminas and Sprints in. I can't remember off hand where exactley I cut them. I seem to remember cutting them where there was a groove or something along those lines

Hmm... these are 2.0"... I guess I will be chopping mine.

I can probably get you some pics of where I cut mine.

I have them dissasembled in my garage and my Ksports are in the car right now. They will be a good height comparison since my old setup was Sprint 2" drop springs. I never bottomed them out (or hard enough to notice)

Well I cut my front and left my rear stock. I cut the front about 1/4. I have no problems :D

Thanks guys for you help.

gratz. when I installed my illumina/spool spring combo I cut mine in half. have had no prob. would't be able to tell you about the msp ones, but looks like you figured it out.

How do you like the ride? Man, I am in HEAVEN with this setup. It even has the same drop amount as the K-Sports.

I loved it! thing was heavenly. and after the awr 21.5mm adjustable rear swaybar.....ohhhh man! :) I was contemplating on moving to the k-sports only because of the adjustability of them. Not sure though. Plus I found a place that sells them at a sick price of like $475 shipped. I think they're still the same price from them, but this was like 3-4 years ago.

I will never go back to coilovers just for the fact I don't auto-x and I don't want to worry about alignment, camber, tire wear, etc etc... Now I just need to find time to align my car haha.
