IL Work Zone Enforcement

Illinois will begin using photo radar in freeway work zones starting
in July. Beginning in July the State of Illinois will use speed cameras in areas
designated as "Work Zones" on major freeways. Anyone caught by these
devices will be mailed a $375.00 ticket for the FIRST offense, but the SECOND offense will cost $1000.00 and comes with a 90-Day suspension.

Drivers will also receive demerit points against their license, which allows insurance companies to raise their rates.

This represents the harshest penalty structure yet for a city or state
using PHOTO enforcement. The State will begin with TWO camera vans
issuing tickets in work zones with speed limits lowered to 45 MPH.

Photographs of both the Driver's face and License plate are taken.

your signature with the dog in it.. makes me laugh everytime I see it. Ive caught myself actually watching it for like 5 mins.. over and over again.. and in tears from laughing. That stuff is funny!!!!

Driving, overall, is turning out to be the biggest scam ever.

Time to don the Gorilla Suit and fake plates whilst I drive.

I completely agree with you 100%. If its not insurance places jacking up rates cause you HAVE to have it... or the fact that its 4.00 a gal in many places. I mean I know most of the things.. like the insurance and this ticketing thing is all meant to do good but still.

every weekday in the morning they have one on 55 southbound between il 126 and rt. 52

Good to know. That area sucks right now. Evertime I'm through there I'm stuck in traffic anyway though.

I wish IL did what other states do, where the limit is in place when workers are present and the signs have lights to show when it is in effect. My question is how the hell are you going to fight the ticket when myself tries to stay at the 45 speed limit is almost be run down by Semi-trucks.

No offense but they need to have shifts working almost 24/7 to get these projects done. The roads are just horrible and I hate it when it is a perfect day and such and not a damn thing is being done on the road.

I just hate how I never really see anyone working unless its around 11am, but when I drive back home at 1pm almost all of those workers are gone.

Didn't they started doing that 2 years ago? I remember hiding behind big cars all they time when I speed, so the camera can't see at that angle.
