Idle Issues

I am positive that problme was prexisting, allow I didn't notice it before I hve been babing it lately. Not to mention it just hit 0 degrees outside lately.

Well as promised before as soon as I know something new I will let you know. My car goes in this Friday when I leave town and when I get back they will either have it completely fixed or have a check waiting for me. BTW it has gotten progressively worse. I sit at a light and can see my headlights dim and brighten as my idle goes up and down. Will post after I get back.

Hey 1st MP3 in NH,

Sounds to me like the guys at the dealership did more than just check out your car. I would say they owe you a new clutch and a free install. BTW, we're using the ACT HD/SS clutch and Fidanza flywheel and have no complaints about the combination.

Cheers.

I think you already sent that to me over in the perfomance forum on the same subject, but if not please send. The car goes back into a dealer Thursday.

I don't think I sent you the pages about the DTC 1504. I only sent you the part about IAC verification.

There's 4 pages about the DTC 1504. Anyway if you go to the dealer tomorow, they have the manual. There's no need for me to scan those 4 pages. But if you realy need it just let me know.

It should be all set. Hopefully the dealer aren;t complete retards.
Thanks for all the help stou.

Well they found the problem. The ECU is F-D!
It is not showing ground for the IAC valves ground wire. aparently ground should be passed through the ECU and it is not doing so.

They have a new ECu onorder but want me to pa them $150 for the time it took to "rule out" the turbo system. I basicly refused this. We left it as we will see shen the ECU gets in since they said they can't go anty futher since it could still be the turbo.

There was alot more said but this is the simple version.

If they want to change your ECU and ask only $150 for some work around the Turbo I'll go for that if I was you. Because of the Turbo they can make lot more trouble to you and a ECU is probably something that can cost around $1000.

I think $150 is fair..... that's my opinion! ;)

The ECU is actualy $1300 but they said I owed them $150 since they had to rule out the turbo charge which it couldn't possibly be. Kind of hard for a turbo to nuke a ground pin on an ECU. Bawsicly I am pistive that Mazda set a time limit to find this type of issue and they ran over that so they want to charge me the difference since they can't charge Mazda. I never told him I wouldn't pay it I just said if its under warrenty then I shouldn't be charged unless he can explain why it took longer becuase of the turbo, he could do that.

WOW thats good news....and your dealer seems really cool to even look at your car after the turbo was installed.....hell around here they would just laugh at you if you took a turbo pro in the shop for repairs. Good luck, glad to see ya on track to fixing your idle issues

Well Now I am realy confused!
I just picked up the car and the idle is much better when coming to stops but still will crash on the highway if I hold in the clutch. Another weird one speaking of clutches is the clutch isn't slipping anymore. I tried a few moments of acceleration with no problems.
I can only assume a slipping clutch is worse when its colder outside. When I first noticed it it was only 5 degrees outside and now its almost 25-30.

technicly its not a short its an open circuit :D.
But from what they said the wiring is fine its the ECU thats trashed.
