03.5 Titani-Yum MSPeezy!
Hey all, does anyone know of an aftermarket foglight that will fit the 03.5 lip and have the same shape/style as the stock p5's or stock 03 MSP's.

I want to get those and put the H3 yellow bulbs in them.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't know about ones that will fit, but I already bought and installed the factory switch from the 03 MSP... I probably could have found a P5 switch at a junkyard for $5, but I wanted all new parts to go on this car.

It makes it look like a factory installed accessory on the inside. I hope to find some lights that will also not look out of place or added on.

If you want to have the 03 MSP foglights, you can remove your front lip, get the 03 splitter and install the factory 03 foglights. you bumper under that stick on 03.5 lip is the same as the 03 msp

Appreciate the tip, but i was looking for a straight "bolt-on" (lol@using that term with foglights) for the 03.5 msp..no removing lips or modifiying anything (until the front mount, that is!)

Any helpers?

Thanks again!

Jason, say NO to fogs! (smash) Our cars look different than all of the other Proteges because they DON'T have fogs & the vents we have can be made functional for an intake or brake ducts if you do the TT fender vent mod I want to do. Don't go & ruin that look by putting fogs in. Fogs aren't what makes a car sporty:

See, they are openings like the 03.5 & not fogs.

I'm not looking for 34565674 inch around lights...

I just want something... (can be very small ovals or round for all I care) I can mount them somewhere besides the "air intake" holes. (Mazdas way of being cheaper cost, without saying it)

Trust me these would be the only (somewhat for looks) mod on my car... everything else would be to strengthen the natural attributes of the car or make it faster.

Not saying I am going to put the lights on the car, but the option is open because I am now "pre-wired" for them.

Y'know, I've been thinkin' about this same thing for awhile -- but every time I tried t'ask someone about it, there was never really any response.

I don't want to clog up the 'air intake' areas, or whatever the hell you want to call them, with fog lights like the 03 MSPs have. I like those 'air intake' areas how they are on the 03.5 -- because they do, yes, make the 03.5's different. No offense to the 03 MSP people, of course!

I was toying with the idea of mounting SOME type of fog lights to the BOTTOM of the front bumper. You know how beneath each 'air intake' area, where the 03's have their fog lights, there's a section of the bumper that's 'lower' than the rest? And then in the middle stretch of the bumper, it's 'higher'? .. I hope I'm making sense here. It's kinda hard to describe.

I was thinking of buying some type of fog lights -- NO clue what kind, as I've honestly never put fog lights on anything before -- and just bolting them right nearby where the 'higher' part of the bumper meets the 'lower'.

Anyone have thoughts on this? Suggestions? Bad idea? Decent idea? Will the wiring be messy? Has anyone DONE anything like this already?

Well, if you think the fogs are *hindering* performance, or are purely cosmetic, do you really thing those holes up front do much of anything? If it did, why do the CAI setups on your cars drop into the fender well? Putting foglights up front isnt going to make your car any slower, and not having them up front isnt going to make them any faster. Just do what you want to do and don't listen to anyone else.

If you like the look, do it. I don't see STi's or EVO's having problems because of the fogs. And yes, I do understand that they are rally cars for the street. Again, if you think it looks good, do it. Don't let anybody tell you different. Whats more different than an 03.5 having fogs, it seems like the 03.5's WITHOUT the fogs are the common ones.

(lol) (at the comparison) :D

our fog holes or vents are NON-Functional.

as in

USELESS

Plugging them up will do nothing to the car.

I suppose you could take advantage of them being there, but who is really going to do this?

Just get four big honkin' 8" Cibie Big Oscars and mount 'em on a rally-style aero mount (or brush bar). Be sure to run relays, upgrade the alternator, and replace that puny battery we have...

Heck, I don't even know if big Oscars are made anymore, but they were WAY cool lights in their day.

OK, on a more serious note, I do like my '03 fogs since, once aimed, they actually do help. Don't know what to recommend, but you can always check a salvage yard for P5 fogs (or even Subie outback fogs). Another option would be Susquehanna motorsports, they have a decent selection.

Good luck!

If they were functional you might have a point, but as newf pointed out, they're useless.

How can they be useless? They provide a clear path for air into the engine bay. Mine exits into the bay a couple of inches from the stock intake.

Yah, I wouldn't say they are necessarily useless, particularly if you have a CAI. And although I laugh at the comparison, I suppose dropping several thousand into an engine rebuild and some monster upgrades could put it close to the performance range, at a fraction of the cost. I'm just trying to get past my (argh) break-in period :D

Well, considering that HP numbers are the same for 03 and 03.5, I wouldnt say it DOES anything either.
