I wanna go Turbo?

There may be one out there but for the hours upon hours I've researched I haven't found one. Besides you will wan't to buy parts as they come up for sale on the boards....buying parts from the dealer will cost waaaaaay to much. You might as well buy a MSP.

Check my edited post #39.....the second link.

i know, ive thought about buying a msp, but i owe too much on my Pro5 to trade it in. Nobody would offer me enough for a trade. That is still a option though. my biggest problem of buying a MSP is i want one that is clean and not beaten. i know thats hard to say considering its a msp and they are all driven hard, but id hate to trade my Pro5 for a msp and have something go wrong. i know things will go wrong turbo'n my pro5, but it would be much easier to buy a msp and not deal with install cost etc.

I just like the fact that by turboing the P5 makes it's unique. And I like the hatch better than the sedan. Personal preference I guess.

the only way i will get a msp is if someone local sells one with less miles then my car, clean and i can make the same price payments.

Stick with the P5. They look better and are lighter overall. Besides, people know what an MSP is. I like getting funny looks from people who wonder why I turbocharged a 4 cylinder station wagon :)

haha, true true. I think no matter what im keeping my Pro5. I owe to much to trade it in, ive put too much into it and dont wanna try to go stock again, plus im only at 50,000 miles so i got plenty of life left in it to go turbo and take my time doing it. There are some looks of the MSP i like though, for example i gotta buy a 03.5 msp front lip. I think when my income taxes come im going to try and find a used hiboost kit or piece together the msp or any turbo kit and get the locals together for the install. I really wanna start buying everything now so i can have all the pipes powdercoated etc. I think its one thing to have turbo, but to open up the hood and see a sweet turbo engine bay is way better. I wanna be able to show my car off too.

Someone correct me but....as I best remember.....170 HP

There is a difference between stock setup and another setup with better mods pushing the same psi though. It's debatable.

i think i need to test drive a msp and see how it feels, then i can decide if i want turbo or not? i dont think ive ever been in a turbo'd car. i just know everytime i read about turbo's im in love. im going to ask a local to let me ride in a msp, maybe drive it, then go from there, if i like the power, feel, etc im getting a turbo kit with my income taxes.

You do not have to guess.. You will like it and you will do anything for it...

haha thats what im affriad of. its funny though because i want to turbo my pro5 so bad, but i dont even know what its like to have turbo. i sit on this forum all day and read and read and i want more and more, but i dont even have experience with a turbo to know what im getting. i do plan on keeping my car, buying a turbo kit with my income taxes, getting the locals together for the install and running at 6 psi until i can go forged.

+1, if you even remotely think about going turbo, you already know what you are going to experience.

Turbo is a great feeling, especially after driving a regular Protege around for a while. Stock MSP puts down 170 at 6.5psi. Just to estimate for you, an MSP kit can still get you more power if you get a piggyback EMS or FMU, and a boost controller. With just those, you wouldn't want to go over 10psi, which can get you anywhere from 180-210hp on average, all depending on supporting mods as well. If you want more, you'll need to spend more money foring your motor unless you really really like to put your block on the line every time you drive. Once you forge your motor, your options open up quite a bit!

well, my first plan is to be turbo'd at 7psi max, then once the money comes ill go forged and go big boost. i think if i have i can find a msp kit with intake and fmic ill have all the power i need. im waiting for some pics of a kit im thinking about buying.

There is no such thing as "all the power you will need" unless you drive a Top Fuel dragster, nice try, lol.

A fully stock MSP setup will get you exactly what you need right now, by the sounds of what you are saying atleast. FMIC is a nice upgrade too. What exhaust you running right now? If it's stock, I'd invest in an exhaust system that's more freeflowing than the stocker. No need to go big, just something that will let those gases escape quicker. I'm running the 2.4" Corksport exhaust and it's great. There's lots of affordable exhaust systems available that will be more than sufficient enough for a stock MSP setup.

Sure there is. Example: If you can only tuck 225 wide tires under the fenders, what are you going to do with 600 hp? Totally un-useable. Just sayin ;)

It's doable. Need a good bit of camber, but they'll fit. Of course, the more camber, the worse your power delivery in a straight line...etc etc etc lol
