I should have gotten a Orange msp

I strongly considered buying an MSP but I decided not to. I'm gonna try and get a nice place in Santa Barbara.... but that's besides the point. (hear ya)

Before I saw the Spicy Orange in person I would have never though I could get it. But when I saw it in person I loved it. I really don't like driving such a flashy car though, I don't want that much attention, and I'd hate to get it scratched or chipped, but it's so nice. (evil)

Anyways, I didn't end up getting the car, so I guess there's no point to this story. :)

Hehe, yeah, it's pretty nice, and is still a very nice car. The one I bought in August was kind of in crummy condition though, but hey, $1000. ;) That's why it's nice driving the WRX around sometimes, don't have to worry about broken heater cores or clicking axles.... But that will all be fixed soon... and it will be faster. (nana)

Since we have kinda moved to the topic of window tinting, what do you guys think of red window tinting on the black mica MSP? I will eventually have more red accessory parts in the car and engine bay. Just curious.

Zero to sixty in 1.9 and 0-100 in 5.6 with two peeps in the car (according to an old SCC issue.)

that seems a TAD BIT super-carrish don't you think? doesn't the car have 300 hp? hows it pulling those kinds of numbers off, when the evo and sti are mid-high 4's 0-60? and what's it pull in the 1/4? the trap speed must be off the charts...

unless i'm misunderstanding your post in some way... it just seems a bit fishy

Sorry, sorry, I didn't mean any harm, I was hoping you would take it as a joke. :(

Damn, just typed up a nice reply and the board logged me off, so it's lost.

I know it's off topic, but...

Yes, the car was available in several levels of tune. The best were the RS200 Evolutions, of which 24 were built. They were rated at 550hp, but were easily retuned to 650-750hp. They were beasts, and are still the fastest accelerating production car I've ever seen.
Just go Googling for "rs200 evolution" and you'll find lots of info. Most peeps have never heard of them.

If anyone here is close to my age (33) and has old SCC issues from around 1990, let me know. They did an informal test on it and wrote a story about it. Also, there were two of these cars touring with the World of Wheels in around '90 or '91. One was black and in street trim, the other was white/red with the Marlboro racing scheme. The black one was tuned to 750hp and claimed a 1.9 second 0-60. Very possible, since the 650hp version has clocked a 2.1 to 60.
Sorry, just drooling again. It's my mission to have one of these cars someday.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled program...

Whoa! The yellow has mica in the paint too! I've wondered about that. Sweet! They're all beautiful and unique. Can we leave it at that?

i wish they made a mazdaspeed in white. white rules. :) and so does its opposite, black. i think with black or white, you cant go wrong. with the vibrant colors, they might get old quick and become annoying. its like having a yellow car, and then wish you got black. becomes annoying. at least with black you can put any wheel on your car no matter what color, and its gonna look badass.

You know I was thinking about powdercoating my rims black. Does anyone know how much powdercoating four rims would be around. Maybe someone that has done something powdercoated could give a little insight on what could be a good estimate.

LOVE my Titanium. Still get compliments on the color all the time. Very sexy when I can keep her clean & waxed, doesn't show dust too badly when I'm less vigilant (this winter -- eek), really she's beautiful even when spattered with mud.

I wasn't so sure about the orange at first either, until I spotted one parked when I was visiting my brother in San Francisco... that's beautiful too, but it wouldn't work for me, not at this point in my life, and not living where I do now.

Maybe if I were 19 again... sigh. Then again, I wouldn't have been able to afford her when I was 19. Now that I think of it I actually WAS driving an orange car when I was 19! Ohmigosh... that's kind of funny, heheh...

black is cool

the black is awesome cuz their is so much s*** you could to it... buy some 3d mesh from Wings West, or put some chrome on it. Yeah, it gets dirty easily, but nothing is more bad ass than a clean and polished black car with those rims that come with it.... even buy some vinyl and put some graphics on that. The cool thing about black, when it has graphics with red, yellow, gold, well any color, it looks awesome.

you got an awesome car man.... just wax it it a lot so the dirt and mudd come off easily.
