I need IC advice

heres my situation. I tried the DIY dual bov setup w/ stock pipes and f'ed up my upper ic pipe. i have a hole the size of a golf ball and its holding my HKS SSQV BOV with krazy gel, epoxy, couple silicone hoses w/ clamps, and plastic pipes. its looks ghetto as hell, but its holding, i think. i would post pictures but i'm too embarrased. its holding decently well for now but i wouldn't bet my goldfish's life on it not falling off. it doesn't look anything like the DIY posted by somebody b/c when i came across a problem, i came across a bad string of improvising.

anyways, I need advice on what i should do.

a. should i keep it as is until the end of summer when i can afford a FMIC.
b. go do the custom upper ic pipe for $200 + labor now (300 total)
c. go get full hard pipes for our mazdaspeed now and cut my losses on my FMIC later. (anybody have referals for a company?)

Turbohoses has a hardpipe kit (********** on the forum sells it), and he could have flanges for your BOV welded directly to it. I think you could get that for around $400. Then spend another $400 later on an upgraded SMIC. Unless you plan on boosting over 14 psi I would just go that route (or if you are determined to have a FMIC look just save for that and don't show anyone your engine compt for now:).

Go with the hard pipes and upgrade your SMIC later. Turbo hoses is in the process of fabbing their SMIC upgrade and im sure it will be a decent price and good quality.

sounds like a great deal. i'm looking into it right now. thanx.

to the guys who suggested upgrading the SMIC in the future, what range in hp will they be able to handle and how will it deal w/ heatsoak compared to a front mount. i understand it won't be as good, but will it be significantly better than the stock one we have now.

i plan on running 250 whp in the future.

thanx.

I'm sure turbo hoses SMIC will be able to handle 250 whp. I would say even more. If you are worried about heatsoak, get an IC sprayer, Co2 or water...

hey kicker, seems like you are having big problem with your upper IC pipe. My suggestion to you is to save your money for the FMIC. Or, the best thing for you to do would be to save some money and get one of those new Nissan 350Z's out there. i heard those were one of the best handling cars out there, and they dont have problems with IC piping since they are straight up N/A power. Although the Greddy twins will help it out alot in a few weeks when i get them. but yeah, get one of those Z's!!! it will be the best and last upgrade you will need!!!

You ever suck some dick for marijuana? BOOOO THIS MAN. BOOOOOOO!

Unless you plan on paying as much for insurance as you do for your car payment I would stick with the MSP. Best car for the buck in my opinion.

67 bucks a month for a 350Z and you are what 19? I smell bulls***.

he's on a fleet insurance with like 8 cars so his payments are rediculously low. get this, its 67 a month, after 2 street racing tickets where he lost his license for 6 months and he will be losing it again for another 18 months i a couple weeks. s*** i pay 100 a month and my deductable is 1000 if i wreck.

I smell (owned)

J/P, matty. When I was younger, my 20-year-old friend had an econobox-level insurance premium on his Supra TT. His father was an insurance underwriter and his mother an insurance actuary, both for Erie Insurance. Actuaries set rates, and underwriters determine what rate clients qualify for.

It's not what you know, it's who you know...
