I'm surprised Brian didn't yell at him to stay at stock boost levels.
My suggestions:
Without any type of exhaust or intake cooling goodies (CAI, FMIC), don't go higher than stock.
Without any type of fuel management don't go any higher than 8psi.
Without a great tune don't go higher than 10psi.
Without forged internals don't go higher than 12psi.
i concur with this...although it reads a lil' funny.
stock: keep stock boost, maybe 7-8psi but it won't like you. fuel cut=not cool.
intake+exhaust+IC: 8-9psi.
intake+exhaust+fmic+EMS (untuned): 10psi
intake+exhaust+fmic+EMS (well tuned): 12psi, maybe 13 if you're feeling frisky EVERY ONCE in awhile on a cool day.
no forged = 13+psi is pretty risky. you'd probably be ok for awhile, but slowly the rods will begin to bend and it's only time and bad luck that determines the FS-DE's future...
also above ~13psi you're going to need bigger injectors. With any added boost don't forget colder plugs, weld the LSD if you plan on launching it, synthetic oil etc...
remember than getting an IC requires pipes, and a bov is a good idea.
one thing leads to another, none of which is cheap so be ready. Easiest route without EMS but still quick would be exhaust+intake in place of airbox+SMIC+8psi.
