I have a chance to pick up an amazing set of wheels... only drawback is the low offset

here are the specs

18x8 +38 offset with 225 40 18" tires

I know there is a member here with those wheels specs on stock height ... with 215 45 18" tires

but heres my question

CAN I RUN THESE WITH COBB springs? ... with the 225 40 18" tires with no issues ? .. if it means some fender rolling im fine with that .. but i wont go beyond that to make these fit ..

so can anyone confirm for sure that these will work on a slight drop

I need to know ASAP as i dont wanna miss out on this deal

With that tire and wheel combination you will be 20mm. or .8 inches closer to the fender than the stock tire/wheel combination. That does not include the Cobb spring drop. Get your tape measure out and check it out. My guess is that even with rolling the fenders you are going to be rubbing or very, very close to it.

well i can confirm at stock height and with 215 45 18 .. there is no rubbing whatsoever and the wheel and tire combo dosent stick out and look stupid ... as a user already posted pics of this setup

the reason for the 225 40 is that they are already included and are brand new .. so id much rather use those .. hrmm ill have to do some more research

Ok I will expose my stupidness more purposefully now. What is the offset in relation to? it seems there is a definite limit before you run into strut or spring so once suspension parts are on, the offset should go + or minus in regard to increased wheel/tire width? ihave 225/40/18 with an 18x8 wheel. with a 45 offset. Cobb springs with no camber adjustment yet. But no rear wheel rub. I wanted 235 but was worried about tearing tires up

i would recommend against this. i have +45 offset tires and wish i had spent more time finding a higher offset.
