better act fast or you may miss out on a new one. besides...even if you were to find one on the lot that was new, it will have probably already been driven by a couple customers saying they want to buy it, but never do.

That is news, big news!
I went into the dealership this weekend and the guy there said that they will continue with the 2008.5's into 2009. He assured me of this. Now maybe he is full of poo but it doesn't make sense for him to say this if he wanted to get me to buy right then n there right!? i mean if he wanted to instill a sense of urgency to get me to buy he would have said something along the lines of "better act fast supplies are limited." Right!?
I just bought mine and the dealership told me on multiple occasions that there was not going to be a 2009 model of the MS3. They said that the next SPEED model would be the miata. He confirmed this just last week when I was in there getting my new plates.
Whether or not this is true is up for debate, but I have no reason to argue with them because I haven't personally called the factory to ask them if they are still building MS3s. Salesmen are notorious however.

There's gotta be an 09 coming out. No way mazda's going a year without a speed. The car is selling well and a full redesign for the 3 won't be out for another year...bring on 09.
MSMX-5 i've still heard nothing of, no spy shots, no news, nothing on that car. I know mazda has something in the works, but they are really keeping it quiet. But with the lack of news on the MSMX-5 I can only assume that model won't be out for a while.

I don't understand why Mazda would waste time revamping the interior and introduce two new colors if they were only going to run them for 1/2 a year and end production for 2009. It doesn't make sense. People thought the Honda S2000 would only last for 3-4 years and we're going into it's 9th year with no plans to end anytime soon. This is one of those "I'll believe it's gone when I see it gone".
