I hate gatorade...

So I was driving on the highway last week on my way to work, when a car two lanes over hit a big orange gatorade water cooler and sent it flying across the road into the front of my MS3. Driving in Houston meant there was too much traffic to do any evasive maneuvers, so I had to take it on the chin, so to speak.

$900 dollars later ($250 deductible), I should have it back tomorrow. Still have not received an exhaustive list of repairs, but the front right side was crumpled in front of the wheelwell. Foglight bracket was obviously messed up and the front deflector needed to be replaced also.

A $20 cooler has caused me a lot of frustration and given me a whole new reason to hate lawn crews who can't tie down their fkn equipment.

I felt like ranting.

yeh i hit a traffic cone in houston the other month, it was dark, the cone was in the middle of the center lane, nothing i could do with cars on each side of me. I was so pissed i wrote to txdot asking what department i send the bill to. I got a letter back a week later from their legal department providing proof that they were not liable for damage caused from debris on the roads. i wrote back suggesting that their crews perform job safety and environmental analysis each day where they could identify potential hazards and take steps to help eliminate them, i was just venting and being a dick, come to think of it i am still venting now.

i feel your pain.

Its the best with Fish-N-Chips says Oor Wullie....

I live in Houston too and I feel your pain. I am always uber aware of debris on the roads here it sucks so much....my faves have been lik ea california king size mattress, a huge stepladder,oh and like a big log or something one time...it sucks...

speaking of racist remars, there is another name for this type of people as well ;)

Spare me... as if all coolers that fly off the highways are from lawn crews.. yea the burly contruction workers, carpenters, etc tie their s*** down real well do they?

I feel your pain. Cannot tell you how many times I have come up behind a lawn crew, contractor, or just some dumb redneck in a pickup truck who thinks he can save gas by ripping the tailgate off. (Mythbusters actually proved that this causes you to use MORE gas, by the way) Of course, they then toss all their crap back there & don't bother to tie it down, so random junk comes hurtling out every so often.

I just wish cops would actually pull people over for failure to secure their loads.

Never been to Houston then?

Got the MS3 back, but the front bumper cover is not quite sitting right. It is sitting flush in the wheel-wells, but under the hood, one side sticks out about 1/4" further than the other side (talking about on either side of the mazda emblem).

I pointed it out to the body shop and they say there is no adjustment for that. They broke it down and showed me that really there was no adjustment when I questioned them on it. It's not remotely noticeable to anyone who isn't looking for it, but I know it's there and my perfect car is no longer perfect. Quite annoying.

At least with my old car, the body panels didn't quite sit right because I drove it into a tree. That was my own damn fault and I couldn't feel bad about it.

I'm an immigrant Scotsman to this great country. So I have zero English heritage. ;)

I am originally from Middlesborough so I am an Immigrant Englishman. My dad does keep a house in Kirkcaldy though. So when I do go home the majority of my time is spent in Scotland. I love Scotland defintiely my favorite place in the UNITED KINGDOM haha to stay...

I am sure you enjoyed the Oor Wullie Reference though?
