I HATE 5x114.3!

Am I the only one who wishes that we had 5x100 instead. I know this lug pattern is supposed to be stronger, but I think that's the ONLY +. For one thing, our selection of wheels is about 1/4 as big as 4x100 or 5x100 cars. Then if you're lucky to find some wheels that will actually work, they either cost upwards of $1500 or no one has any in stock. :mad: I want to get some different wheels for my MSP, but it seems like everything I look into is a dead end.

I thought that with my most recent choice, it would be impossible to go wrong, but I should have figured. I just want to get some 17" Rota Subzeros in gold with a +45mm offset, but NO ONE has them. (rant) For whatever reason, all of the Rota distributors only have colors like silver & steel grey. Rota doesn't seem to be making the cool colors like gold or flat black anymore. The only way that anyone will order some is if you get at least 5 orders. I doubt that will work because a while back, I tried a GB on Rota Downshifts & got basically 0 interest.

Sorry for the rant, but I've never had so much trouble with wheels before. I have a buyer for my wheels, but that doesn't mean anything unless I can find some new ones to replace them. The only option I can think of right now is to buy some silver SubZs & get them powdercoated gold, but that introduces a whole new set of problems. While I'm at it, can someone PLEASE explain the deal with boring out the hubs (what they have to be bored to, where I could get it done, & how much I should expect to pay since I can't do it myself like Equinox).

DAMN, I'm so frustrated...I think I'll go drive now & try to forget about this.

Haaa!!! Try owning a Focus. Think it is hard finding wheels for 5x114.3?? Try to find nice wheels for 4x108. Took me a year to find something I liked.

i hated it too when i was looking for wheels. all i wanted was a set of bronze konig heliums but they only come in 4x100. fortunately im satisfied with my holes.

ARD MP5 can solve your problem PM him for pricing. Sorry for your dead end I know how you feel it is just hard to justify that money for just wheels. When everyone else can buy pretty much whatever they want. Oh well eventually our lug pattern will become more mass produced the more cars Mazda builds with this pattern and Acura and honda cars are starting to use this pattern also. Mystere may be able to help you also if you want another option.

He is the first person I asked (or tried to...I have had really bad luck getting in touch with him). Auto R&D really needs a website that people can place online orders on or at least where they can look at the products they carry. He told me he is going to check with Rota or something, but it doesn't sound like he has anything either.

Anyone wanna answer my ? about the hubs?

Try finding 5x108's. =) Volvo's use that lug pattern, however the gaddamn 740 is incredibly fickle about offset being proper. =P Oh, well.

im so thankful that auto RnD is right near by, otherwise i probably never would have gotten any rims

oh yeah i dont think rishie has any p5 rims in stock right now. they arent really completely done moving in, so i think it'll be another month before he has anything
