this girl took my NES back so now i have 0 systems in my apt. what a gay. its like im living in 1960.(well, minus the piles of computers...)

id love to play u guys online, however i have to setup my online account first. ive been kind of lazy as far as that goes. once i get it set up, ill post my gamer tag.

Alright sweet. And so you guys know, you should get a free month of xbox live so you can use that up before you go and spend money on an account.

yeah, i just havent had a chanece to set it up. i just beat call of duty 4 (shortest game ever) so now im probably going to set up my online account and play a little before i have to gie it back to ryan.

Is this ring of death something that just randomly happens or what? My friends 360 just died too.... :( Is there any way to prevent it?

I think the only way to prevent it is to have a 360 that's new enough that they have fixed whatever is wrong with it. I got mine in dec 2006 and it had the problem. I know a lot of the launch systems had it. Just have the mindset that one day, you will probably have to send it in for red ring of death repair.

Yeah I know what it means but last I heard, people were still getting it even on newer model 360's.

I'll likely hold off getting a 360 till that gets figured out (and I'm interested in the new model that comes with hd-dvd capability).

I'm crying a little on the inside. :(..... I have one of the newer consoles so I guess we will find out if they fixed it or not. I can promise that the system will be thoroughly tested when I receive my copy of GTA IV

there will likely be no model with HD-DVD capacity. HD-DVD is dead in everything but name. Only two studios are releasing exclusively for it and insiders have all but confirmed those two studios will jump ship at the end of thier contracts or one of them will at best be going dual format.

blueray won because of their sheer capacity to hold so much more information per disc. HD DVD never really stood a chance. I think the only reason blueray didn't fly in the beginning is because of the lowsy PS3 sales and price.

im pretty sure th RROD on the 360 is that it gets too hot and the some BGA (ie, impossible to fix at home) chip gets loose, then cools with bad contact. so thats why the towels are supposed to work, heats it back up and resolders it in place. some s***. dont know. MS needs to fire whatever engineer ****** that testing up. and hire me.

too bad HD lost. Maybe I'll wait till PS3 gets perfected and just get that.

Why does it matter what media the console uses? 360 is holding its own against a more "next-gen" PS3 with blu-ray, which means the next MS console will leapfrog the PS3. A PS3 with its rumble is so last-gen, oh wait, nevermind.

HD holds 30 gb and BR 50 gb. While 20 gb difference is a fair amount, I could s*** 50 gigs of info out (anyone know a lb of s*** to gb conversion ratio? is that like 2 courics to the gig?) doesnt mean it would be a quality game.
