No, that is the only writing I could find on it... no serial number or anything.... all I could find is that guns before 1898 are not controlled by the government so they have no serial number... (hah) so you say the savage is worth ass?

and that is some intricate work on the double hammer... i'd keep that one one around til ur in some need of cash cuz u will get quite a bit of it i bet... any gun that is antique is worth alot in the right hands... so keep both or sell them ur perogative... but... i'd def keep the double hammer...

I am always in need of some cash..... offers? (glare)

www.gunsamerica.com - has tons of different vendors on it that might be able to place the gun for you

Yeah - the savage is worth about as much as the metal that it is made out of - almost...

no actually i'm lookin for a muzzleloading single barrel... not a double barrel... now on the savage... maybe, but it would be hard to say cuz i'm not really into shelled guns... if it is a bolt action however...

i believe it is a lever action.

so the first is a savage 99 manufactured in 1918 or 1919... nothing on the other yet.

its a coach gun, try looking for coach guns, theyre the double barrels used in old times by the conductor to defend against indians and bandits

well thats how double barrel's started out..you know the term "riding shotgun" thats where it came from..The guy who rode shotgun sat on the bench next to the driver and laid down fire against bandits and indians..lots of interesting things can be learned from tales of the gun on the history channel.

thanks for the info.... now if i can only find some info on the actual gun I have.... i have been searching and cannot find anything! I believe it says "veal ruban" on it.... and thats it.

you mean we're not supposed to being that now? no wonder motorists are giving my passengers dirty looks....

Go to gunbroker.com....It's the "ebay" of guns. Search coach guns..you can also search for just double barrelled long shotguns. You should be able to 1) find a matching pic to identify the gun and 2) get some idea of the value by comparing prices.
