I got myself a FC

well the dude said it was hard to start in the cold and it definetely qualified as that today and he kept it garaged, i have it in a driveway. It got flooded once last night during the test drives, but he showed me what to do and I tried that today, but only once and it still wouldn't fire up. Hoping its just the cold so that I can at least drive it out to kevins sometime soon, but if not oh well, that engine is coming out regardless. It has plenty of little quirks that I am sure I am gonna have to adjust to.

I'm guessing the lights didn't work for you either, did they?

they worked when I pulled the brights if the lamps were down, is that how they are supposed to work? otherwise the parking lights (orange) work at the first light knob turn and the lamps flip up and come on at second turn of switch. Is there any other way to turn just those lights you were talking about on? they looked to me just to be a passage to the lamps with them folded down. I really didn't have much time to spend with him today. yep this car is a him.

Damn. You noticed they work when you pull the stalk! I was just f'ing with you. There are no bulbs in there. They're called Flash to Pass Lenses, and they're just lenses for your headlights to shine through. Kind of nifty and unique to the FC as far as I know.

When I got my RX, I was checking to make sure all the lights worked, and noticed those were dark. Looked closer, realized there were no bulbs or sockets in there. Looked in the owners manual, and there's a little diagram showing what they're for. Apparently, JDM FC's actually do have their own lamps in there, though.

thats what i thought they were to begin with but what do i know, I thought you were being serious that time. oh well. youre gay

Well, I was hoping to send you on a wild bulb chase.

You've won this round, Mr. Scott!

If you are having trouble starting and it's prone to flooding you might have leaking injectors. There is a yellow plug beneath the air box. If you jump the two terminals it will run the fuel pump without starting the car. I would try purging the housings of fuel then jump the yellow plug to see if your engine floods again

Classic vehicle. I always liked how these looked like imitation 944's. But honestly, better! And this is coming from the world's biggest Porsche fan.
Thanks man, that means a lot coming from you, with our past. I love you, come home.

I am still doing a lot of reading up, how should I purge the housings, doing the egi fuse removal and cranking it?

It must be that coolege degrie mang, oh yeah and common sense. (thumbs)

Yeah I think you need to pull the plugs too so it doesn't have to crank so hard and it gives the fuel another place to escape

I know the guy you bought it from. collin is real nice. I actually tried to get you guys to meet him earlier before his car broke, but he was too shy. I know aobut as much as him and he and I talk all the time so if you have any questions on the car, hit me up.

P.S. Collin says to take good care of it, as it is one of few FCs that haven't been abused. HE also suggests that you street port it when you rebuild.

kinda taking my time, trying to find a nice motor. I found a Bridgeported 13b for cheap, but its still expensive, but the guy did a lot of work to it. Problem is it is set up for turbo, so there is a lot of other things I would need to run it in my car. I still haven't talked to the actual builder to see the specs and stuff, if the compression isn't too bad for NA I might get it, run it, and collect the rest of the stuff I may need for the turbo set-up, cross member, ecu, things like that. We'll see I really just thought I would find a decent 13b to drop in but I really haven't looked too too hard. There are a couple places I need to call and check, like Mazmart, but I'll end up spending probably about the same this guy is aking for the BPed motor, so it is kinda nerve racking. I still haven't gotten the car started up and I have been trying several methods described on the rotory forums. Next step I guess is to do the oil trick I just kinda would like to have a motor that can go in there when I do get it started because then it goes straight to Kevin's once I do get it started. Kev came over the other weekend and we had no luck trying to choke it out or anything. I did remove the bad kitty sticker from the hatch though, so that is some progress. I am getting ready to work on my house again too so I have a lot of planning stuff building up in my head, between extending my deck, putting up a shed, redoing the kitchen, and hopefully fencing the yard, I am getting confused with my plans, starting to think about bridgeporting the walkway and extending the rotory splints!?! Anyways it will come along, hopefully not too deep into the autox season too. I am trying to sell off a 240sx I have so we'll see, that'll help financially.

I see. Well hopefully you'll get what you need in time :) I saw an S$ motor on Ebay today for a BIN of $800, said it ran perfectly.

What's needed for the 240sx? condition?
I have a free stock KA24DE with a manual trans in my hands since I helped swap a SR20DET in my cousin's car... along with 1000 other stock parts(suspension, exhaust, ecu, etc).

mainly I just need to put the fuel rail back on, couple body panels, and do the manual tranny conversion. I need the slave cylinder though. BJ is thinking of getting it from me. It needs a little body work and paint and a new windshield, i saw one at pull apart so i dont think that would cost much. The interior is the kicker, it is in very good condition. Only a little wear on the side bolstering and the usual unusual wear of the corner of the glove box. i also have a PNP KA head for it, spare radiator, new rings, new timing guide and a complete gasket kit, minus the valve cover gasket but it is in the car and still new, meaning zero miles. Price for sale depends on how much work I put back into it. Right now I am looking for $500 without the PNP head.

Scott...If you hear something in your driveway, dont worry, its just me, stealing your 5 lug hubs and brake system...I needs it (peep)

lol
