I got myself a FC

awsome Taylor. my good news is i struck a deal for the motor.
awsome details are that I am getting a worked tranny, solid MMs, and a race header to go with!

Kickass! I'd be a bit worried about it being carb'ed, but if you're comfortable with it, cool!

a lot of people convert their FCs to a carb set up. More reliable than the ECU and easier to tune :)

i am gonna come drive around your neighborhood real late at night and early morning

I'd want a F.I. rotary, that's just me. Wait, I have one. yeah, I don't know, I'd switch the fuel injection from the 1 rotor motor to the new one when you get it. also give you a chance to have the injectors clean when swapping.

lol believe me, a lot of the Rotary race cars are carb set ups...[quote='87 Turbo II]I'd want a F.I. rotary, that's just me. dont be mad my NA is gonna run ya. J/K Chris. only problem with going to FI with this car is there are a lot of changes to make, like the subframe. So this was a great deal for a monster NA motor. My goal is to make it to a turboed FD anyways, so I think I am doing pretty darn good with my introduction to rotories.

i cant wait to get this engine in the car and definatly glad its going carbed instead of FI its going to make things alot easier

Korey and I picked up the engine today, packed it in the MSP for the 2 hour drive where it will also hang out til I can get a hand getting it out where we are gonna work on it. So to break it down, what I picked up a 13B J-Bridge port (4port). 12a sidehousing with GLSE rotor housings. Rotors from a '91 (lightest ones). Carbon apex seals courtesy Mazdatrix. Setup for a carburetor, includes the intake manifold needed for a Holley Carburetor (4 barrel FTW). Less than 2k miles on it. With proper carb and tuning, should be capable of 230+ whp. Also included a lightened steel flywheel, along with heavy duty clutch, which I have on the current motor, just need to research which is better i guess. For a couple extra bucks he threw in solid motor mounts, shorty header and a straight pipe (is gonna be really loud), a racing beat carb filter cover (kinda nifty), and the grand prize... a worked tranny with hardened stationary and planetary gears.

Nice find!

Let me know if there's going to be a mini meet to install those..
That seems like a fun project.

You mentioned keeping it in the basement here. If you still want to do that, keep it in your car and we can unload it Friday evening. LMK

Scott, it's a trap! He's gonna stuff it in the festiva for the $2007 challenge!

well looks like the fun begins tonight. The engine is going to start its departure from the bay. If scott doesnt want to i plan on starting up a thread journal of the tear apart and everything else so keep an eye out in this section or if your a member over at nopistons.com as it will be posted over there as well.
