I Get Shocked!!!

shocking

Do you have a stick? I do and I have always gotten shocked in sticks more than auto's. My theory is that when I am done shifting through the gears, I have to adjust myself back to the right driving position thus rubbing my clothes all over the seats building up more static. Always worse in the winter.

What ever happenned to those static discharge thingies that you drag under your car? I think they were like rubber coated and had a little triangle shaped reflector on it. They looked gay, but if they worked I think it would be quieter than a chain.

I don't know if we should do a group buy on a such a technologically advanced block of metal...

The chain or rubber strips only discharge the charges built up between your car and earth/ground.

But when you get up and rub your clothes across the seat, the charge is built up between you and the car.

So it's not gonna save you from being shocked :)

Me 2

Well, this makes me feel much better. I'd get a shock all the time from my P5 but not from my old car. So apparently it's not just me. Living in Phoenix, it's so darn dry I almost cause thunder my shocks are so strong lol. I use the elbow technique, hardly feel it. I'm so used to it, if I don't get a shock I'm befuddled hah.

You know, i used to fight the shock....try to like avoid it by getting out really fast or like hopping out of the car quickly or like getting out n closing the door with my foot. It never worked, i always got shocked. Its more like you gotta accept it and have fun with it, hahahah. Like its a little exciting cuz you KNOW its gonna happen yet your thinking like "F#@Kin aye! here we go again" but its not that bad. But sometimes ill get a big shock that hits me in the leg, those ones are usually really big but for the most part its somewhere on my arm/hand. ill try touching the door frame..

HAHAHAHAHHAH

OMG! I seriously thought it was the way I was driving for the longest time. I thought it was because when I shift my foot drags along the carpet.

Anyways, its not habit to use the window to close the door. Because for the first 2 weeks, I got shocked EVERY time I got out. It hurt like a b**** EVERY time too. But I LOVED watching my passengers take the zap. Sometimes you could see it too if you were ready for it! :)

Haha.... this thread made me LOL!

I've 3M'ed my car. Never been shocked.

get shocked, get used to it. ive been closing the door to my car with my shoe for 6 months. the shock is powerful, it hurts, it nearly disabled my hand on several occasions. ive tried putting a dryer sheet in my pocket, didnt work. ive even shocked my nipple.

(omg)OMG, this is too funny. how come i have never found this thread before. and i thought it was just me or my car or something. someone needs to forward this thread to mazda and tell them to work on it. damn now i really want to go with the leather interior.
