Hwy 9 Fun Run!

Hopefully, it's under warranty. I was going up Hwy 9 from Saratoga when about 3/4 of the way up it bagan to knock. By the time I limped it home, it was crapping out at stop lights and knocking LOUD.
All I've ever done to it engine-wise is my Injen intake and Mazdaspeed axel-back.

How could it? It fit perfectly(it was from a 2003 P5) and I even sprung for a new gasket when I installed it.

No, I never redline my car. When I really get on it, I'll take it up to around 5750-6000r's.
Tonight, when the knock first appeared, I was at about 4500rpm. When we got to the summit, we checked the oil and it was really low. I just changed my oil about three weeks ago and there's no oil spot where I park, no oil residue under my car or in my engine bay, no leak anywhere. My exhaust tip, on the other hand is filthy-black. I keep my P5 pretty clean, and I haven't noticed that before. Also, Jimmy(UberCaff) said that he smelled something when he was behind me. I put three quarts of oil in it tonight.

sounds like you had either bad valve seals or piston rings, then when it burned up all the oil, game over
