2002 Protege (2015 CX-5 soon!)
As a young man, my desire was a RX7.
My first new car a Precidia, it helped me get the girl.
Traded the Precidia for first family car, a Protege.
Teaching my boys to drive the Protege, it will be their first ride.
CX-5 on this month's shopping list.

Howdy, from Alberta! (hi)

ps: it's mandatory in Alberta to own a truck, so also drive a 1 ton dually diesel Dodge 4x4

Precidia, eh? That would be the MX3 in Mazda US-speak. Neat little car that had the distinction of having the smallest (1.8 ltr) V-6 in production at the time. Welcome to the CX-5 club and, BTW, love your sign-off at bottom!

Welcome, and you'll love the CX-5 if that's what you end up with. I'm just over 2 months, and 6100 miles in on mine and I am still loving it. :)

Welcome to the forums! The CX-5 is a great vehicle and really does have that zoom-zoom their marketing people talk about! It's practical, economical and lots of fun!!!!

What's the point of making it mandatory to own a truck? I don't get that one!

Welcome to the forum.

Alberta is a mining province, and I'm guessing by the quip, the OP is in the oil sands business. The best darn rootinest tootinest source of squeaky clean petroleum products there ever was. You have to have a truck just to stick it to those filthy commie hippies who evilly think that there are better ways to build for the future than digituprefineitsellitburnit.

LOL

Oil patch? nope. Burn lots? Yup! Like everyone does, directly or otherwise.

I tow a 5th wheel, haul stuff for my kids Air Cadet squadron etc, etc....

Being factitious on the "mandatory" bit.

Thanks for the welcome!

Well, we took the plunge!

She's a 2014 CX-5 GT loaded with all the goodies plus some awesome FAST rims and Yokahamma perf rubber (summer), we'll keep the stock rims for winter tires. It's going to take a bit for them to dress up the four corners plus add the hitch etc, but I'll post picks when I can.

Hoo-ahhh

Nice, by air cadet do you mean some type of flight program? You should make a build thread the other forums (on mazdas 24/7) have them I stuck mine in the lounge and welcome area

The Canadian Cadet program started with Air Cadets durring WW2 as a way to school future airmen in the basics of aviation prior to enlisting. The program continues as a youth organization with Army and Sea Cadets as well. Cadets.ca

A great program that gets 20hrs per week of my time.

Cheers, G.
