Okay I just picked up my SU (street unit) rear motor mount and need instructions on how to install. I'm pretty sure I could figure it out but I'm not exactly sure on where the jack points on the car are.. Anybody got a visual of this and how this is done? I really don't want my car to fall down on me (eek2) during the install.

look in your owners manuel under the change a flat tire section or something like that.the jack points are right behind the front tires by a crossmember area just jack one side up enough to get yourself under. the motor mount is two 17mm easy access bolts, you dont have to support the engine, and just work the old one out and work the new one back into place. you can move the tranny/motor portion around to get more space when removing/installing the mount. its very very easy maybe 10 minutes mine took like 2 mins.

please use jackstands.... ramps work too.... don't get under a car supported only by a jack, I've seen them fall before and its not pretty

+1

I usally use a jack and a jackstand at the same time so if one fails then I have a back up. Having the car fall on me scares the s*** out of me. They will fall especially with the emergency jack they will fall easily.

As far a jacking points go the best thing I have found is to get a 4x4 piece of wood and cut it into a block and then cut a slit halfway through the middle of your wooden block then put that on top of your floor jack so the slit will fit into the fin that the emergency jack fits into.

I'm pretty sure I know how to do this now :) Thanks for all the support!! I just looked under the car and saw what appeared to be the jack points about 12inhes or so behind the front wheels. I'm going to autozone to rent a 2 ton jack and install it over there

I've had mine on for a month now, and seems as though its stopped doing anything. I get bad wheel hop in first, and engine seems to move in the engine bay…

The SU mount is a 2 piece design, with a nut and bolt holding the 2 halves together. Check this as well as both mount points to be sure there is no play. Odds are the bolt inbetween came loose. You should be hearing a noise when you take off from a stop.
