How about running the remote turn wire? Where did you guys tap in for that, and did you run it down the same side as the amp power wire?

preferably you would want the rem ant (or similar) off of the deck, so whenyou turn your radio off, your amp shuts off.

However realistically you COULD use any 12 volt source that has accessory power (my deck couldn't turn on my ampso I had to scrounce for 12 volt sources, luckly for me, Mazda ran a harness back there just for me)

I plan on rewiring and using a relay, that would be the best solution for me.

I cant get my radio out to swap to my new HU and hook up my amp

you need the ford radio removal tools 4 of them in total, pop off the caps on the side and pull.. I got the removal tools from advaced auto parts, it is a pain the first time but you only have to do it once haha

Yeah, well my radio had been removed a few times by mazda to fix some things and I guess the clips were messed up, had to take the dash apart to get it out. New HU is in and system good to go boom-boom!

i am trying to install a amp wiring kit but cant get to the back of the stereo to install a line converter. i am unable to see the pics, can you please email them to me or let me know what is needed to remove the stock stereo

I'm about to do a full install in my 2005 6i, non-bose. specs:
Shipped on Mar 22, 2007 via Ground Service.

That's about it.

Anyway... Its my first install and the howto seems to be missing the images. Is there any way I can get them? I "understand" the concepts but I'd REALLY like to pop off all the pieces of the door(to run the wire) without breaking something. I plan on running the power wire drivers side and everything else, passenger side.

If there were photos, they would have most likely been of a Protege. They aren't going to help you very much with your 6i. Check "mazda 6 club . com" for a howto on removing door panels. Running the power cable through the firewall is probably the only other thing that is difficult. For that, you can just find a rubber grommet, carefully cut a hole in it with a razor blade, and then pass your cable through the other side.
