How to get 240-250 horse on a 07' Mazda 6?

Where are all the V6 lovers around here? All I see is turbo fanatics! ;)

I would like to get my car around the 240 horse mark and 230 lbs mark.

Mostly because I would like to have the same "paper" specs as the Honda V6 and Acura TL.

Does anyone actually thing a Mazda 6S could beat a new Honda V6 accord?

Heck no!... Definitely not stock.

But with some simple bolt ons (I/H/E), I think you may have a chance.

I figured that. From what I heard the exhaust is pretty good on the 07'. I don't know if it has the pre-cat like the 05' and 06' model. The headers from CP-E look great. As they say it adds an extra 20 horse but that was tested on one of the older models.

I also know that the Cold Air Intake with the fuel map customizer from CP-E adds another 20 to the peek horse.

All I need to know if these parts are interchangeable from the 05' and 06' models. If not...I guess I'll be waiting at least a year. No matter any how as any 07' is still under warrantee.

Indeed, the CPE MAFci is the best intake/custom AF tune for the NA 6.

Unfortunately, there has yet to be a header kit to be designed for model years '06-'07. :/ Also, the stock exhaust on the 6 is pretty straight and any modifications is purely an acoustic mod.

Hey Raynman, thanks for the reply. I have my eye on a 07' MAFci system as well. It looks like the best bang for your buck that can add an extra 20 horse and more importantly adds power through out the power band.

Btw, I'm located in Hillsborough NJ and work in Bridgewater. Scary right?

Just drop this in....

3.2L 260 hp V6 ... hmm. Now if only Mazda could license vtech for their next model I wouldn't have to do an engine swap.

It's agreat motor...that pic is kind of old..It has headers now. What a difference.

I'm starting to get the feeling that aftermarket solutions aren't so great right now for the 07'. Hah. (other than ripping out my engine)

The wife and I are considering a 6 for our next car. While the V6 is underpowered compared to its rivals, I think its the best looking and handling of the bunch.

I do wish it got more love on the forums though.

As for the CLS Type S, I can't hate on it. I love ALL the acura Type S models...except for the RSX Type S. Thats just an overpriced overrated posemobile.....IMHO :)

You're dead right. It handles and looks a lot better than most of them. Not to mention it's about 4-6 grand less than the competition. So if you think about it, adding a 600 dollar CP-E MAFci and maybe 1k in headers, and you have yourself a 230 hp light weight sports sedan.

And the V6 did get some "love" over at ***************

It's interesting to see if they actually make a production turbo for the v6 even if it's only 5-6 psi of boost. Though a part like that is only for die-hards who want to spend 4-5k which takes life away from the motor.

I guess if I really wanted to have a speed car I could of got the mazda speed 3 for the same price with 2.3T motor. Though the car is a little to small for my liking.
