How often do you reach 4000rpm and beyond?

not very often. i try to shift before 3k rpm. i think i've only hit 4k and above maybe once or twice. i know i'm lame. but in my fc, i don't know how many times i hit redline.

not very often. gas prices are 250+ a gallon here for piss water 91 octane. back when prices were like 1.20ish for premium i was a boostin mofo.

Only when I need to get up to speed. It's weird for me to not rev high because I'm used to Hondas, which love to be wound out. My Prelude I usually rev 6000+, but the P5 engine doesn't feel as happy up there.

In daily driving, not in auto-x.

Passing? Lane change? Uphill?

i'm there too often with gas prices what they are.

but i gotta say, the fuel economy on the P5 isn't that bad...especially considering my previous cars were a 94 Jeep Cherokee (10/12mpg) and a 93 Acura Legend (19/25mpg).

I ******* hated that jeep...only reason it passed smog was because it had a hole in the exhaust manifold that would let most exhaust gas escape before reaching test sensor stuck in tail pipe. yay for shady smog dude not performing thorough visual inspection. (stoned)

but i digress, the P5 doesn't make much power anywhere...so I find myself revving up to 4k and beyond fairly often.

I always high rev, it may be bad for the car, but I come from driving an MR2 and that thing red lines at like 8k, so I'm always above 4k.

Duh !

I drive everything I own just like all the motorcycles I've owned.

Near redline in every gear ... all the time !

4k? I have no reason have the time to get above that with 2hrs of traffic each way all only going 10mph. :(
But when I hit a on-ramp or off-ramp then ya its time to go through the revs. The P5 isn't to gutsy when trying to merge so I normally just hold lots of speed through a ramp. It is always fun to fly onto a highway faster than they are going, the looks are sometimes funny.

4K is a great # im there all the time 3500 from frsit to second and 4-4500 every gear after that dont notice much in the gas comsumption though last car was a gas guzzler 92 accord with BAD mpg

well, when I had my P5...it didn't like the higher revs, and I rarely took it past 5k...cept when really trying ta giver, but she loses most power by 6k any way. However, on ramps, I also enjoyed the exit the turn going 100km/h and sometimes faster...people do look at you funny...lol. With the speed, there is a bit more power up there(thank you turbo) so I usually take her to 6.5k on onramps and such, and everytime I accelerate, I taker up to4.5k in first, and about 3.5k in second when driving conservatively. When giviner, I'm right up there at the 6k mark

I shift between 4&5 k, not usually higher than that, but in rush-hour traffic I'm lucky to get to 3000 most of the time.
I know it's bad for gas mileage but I often find myself hovering around 3500-4000 even
'cruising' just 'cuz I love the sound and the impression of having a fast car, even if it is a dog.

i find it difficult to shift any lower than 3500 from 1st to 2nd since the gear ratios are so close together. So i hit 4k fairly often.

hit about 5000 a few times coming home tonight from work. usually i hit that high when i get pissed at other drivers and i fly around them when the lane opens up into two.
