3rd gear at or around 4000 is such a sweet gear, I love the sound.
3'rd gear is a graet gear and pulls well from 35 MPH -70 MPH.....seem to get out of the powerband over 70 MPH-83 or whenever your limiter kicks in??? just shift to 4'th then.......

OOOOOOHHH! I thought you were supposed to let the pistons fly out the head. Once i got one to fly 8 feet in the air.

No, J/k there.
I do my best to keep the revs between 3000 and 3500. Best fuel efficiency in there.

But if you ever see a red P5 in Santa Rosa, Cali going 90 in front of the police station, that will be me.

Has anybody ever heard of someone wanting to try and find a 6 speed transmition? Cuz i want the 5 that i got, and one more thats the size of my brain (not verry big) so i can cruize going 90 at 3000rpm

I don't really see a difference in fuel economy when shifting below 3k....maybe i'll get 30 km's more on a tank. Big deal, I'd rather have fun!

the closest thing i think you'll find is the miata transmission .... but good luck making that work since it an FR

Yeah, don't do what I do unless you have a straight thru header and exhaust and performance intake and cam. The car will suffocate at high RPMs. However I wouldn't say third pulls great from 35, more like 50. If you have a relatively stock Protege, shift at 5500 for best performance.
