How much did you pay for your Mazda2?

I am so excited! I just got a 2013 Mazda2 Sport Auto for $15,250 (+ title, tax, and license) with the 0% APR financing. They are giving me free window tinting too. It is SO FUN to drive again! I loved my old car (2000 Ford Focus w/ 155k miles) but it was time for a Mazda :)

I picked up my white '13 Sport 5mt with 31 miles on it a week ago for $15,000 (Including 500 off offer from Mazda). 0% financing too. It was the only stick of any trim level within 30 miles of me, and there are 3 Mazda dealers.

I bought my Mazda2 this week, 2013 Sport MT for $12,995+TTL - if I was willing to drive a ways I've seen them as low as $12,500. Was glad to get the last of the greens in my area, vehicle manufactured May 2013. Happy to join the club!

Hello.. I am new to the forum. Just bought a 2013 Mazda 2 Touring in black 5 speed last week. Coming from a Hyundai Elantra I bought new in 2001. 102,000 miles on the original clutch and it was still going strong. Unfortunately aside from the drive train the rest of the car was showing its age. I wanted a new car but not a big payment this car looked like it would be fun to drive for a small car. Took it for a test drive, traded my Korean Tractor in for $500 :( and got the new Mazda 2 for $13.5k. Here in NY not many people looking for 5 speeds in small cars so...I think it was a pretty good deal (?). No pictures yet since we have had a couple of snow storms and I need to wash the car. I plan on keeping the car pretty stock but would like to dress it up a bit. Any ideas? Simple mods like to the intake/air filter I would consider, again ideas welcome. Thanks in advance.

2012 sport manual with pearl white option and service for term of loan for $14,700 OTD.
2011 premium auto with every accessory they had in stock for $17,800 OTD.

I got my 2012 Green Mazda2 Sport MT 1.5L January 2014 with 1,600 miles on it for $12.1k
Almost got it at $12k but since I really wanted the car I gave in an extra $100 because it was green. I was looking at another sport at a different dealer that was silver for around the same price. (but I think the silver one was going to be around 13k.)
I just went over 4k miles this week.

The 2 was the first car I test drove when looking for a car and I didn't try driving anything else. lol Love the car, loved the mpg, and loved the price (considering others). It's basically the perfect car for me and my first 'new' car. :3

man i dont know where you all are getting these smoking deals, i got my 2014 touring with bluetooth and center arm rest brand new for 18600$ at 0 %

Considering you're at 0% APR, that's actually not a bad deal. When you factor in the bluetooth (I presume it's the one with the buttons on the dash and the headliner mic?) and the center armrest, neither of which I have, you made out pretty well. Keep in mind that getting a specced-up Fiesta would be a couple grand more, at least.

soo i went back to my paperwork, i paid 16800 for the car and tax was 1500 then 700 for GAP insurance the car came with bluetooth (i dont know what one it is i dont have the car yet) but i said i wouldnt buy the car without the center arm rest so 19400 out the door. at 0%

alot of good deals here, i am looking at a 2011 with 29k miles for 12,900. It seems expensive given what some of you paid, this is a touring model 5 speed thou. Just dont know if its that good of a deal? I need something more reliable without the HUGE payment.

Is that a dealership price? That doesn't seem like a good deal, considering the car only blue books for about $10-11k. By and large, most cars lose about a quarter of their values over the first three years of their lives. If it were me, and I was buying that car, I wouldn't do it unless I could negotiate the price down to around $9,500 to $10k. There shouldn't be any issues in terms of reliability - Mazdas, being Japanese, are pretty solid, and the car should go at least another 250k.

If you're buying it outright, it gives you some wiggle room to work the price down. If you're financing...I'd say about $11.5k should be the most you'd want to pay for a 3 year old 2 with 30k miles on it. Maybe $12k if it is pristine.

thats what they have it listed at, i havent spoke to my salesman yet. I have been looking at cars on the lot and cant make up my mind, actually its more the salesmans fault. I wouldve already bought a car but thinking about getting a different salesman, this guy and myself dont click, i want fuel economy, he shows me a prius that i know the payment will be to high, he says no i will get you where you need to be, $400 a month is not where i need to be,lol. I have a different dealer that has a leftover 13 for 12,900. The only problem is, its an automatic and i wanted the stick. I tested the manual and it sure was fun. I figure if I have to drive it for atleast 5 yrs i want what I want, might look into a 14 sport. Seems like I can get one for around 14,500 around here in manual. I thought the used 2 touring should be around 10k, that would seem more reasonable to me.

Honestly, with my driving style, I get the same or better mileage driving the 2 than I did the few times I drove a Prius. And the best part is that I don't have to drive a Prius :P

The car hasn't been changed in the past few years (apart from a stock USB port on the stereo), so you're not missing out on getting a 2011 versus a 2014. Threatening to take your business elsewhere usually convinces the salesman to work out a better deal so that may be worth a try.

I might try that, show him the ad for the 2013 for 12,900 and the 2014 for 14,755 and see what he does on the price, I think if they lowered it to 9,500- 10k it might be worth it, because it does have the touring package, going to check it out tommorrow. This dealer has 2 different lots, it is not on the same lot as the saleman I was using so that might be a plus.

Tried haggling with the dealer, a bunch of crooks. They didnt want to budge at all on the price and I go there after seeing the ad as advertised that its a 5speed and it was an automatic. I explained to him that it was the same price as the 13 sport with 10 miles on it and it didnt matter. Looks like i might be testing an auto or looking for a 14 sport with the 5 speed.

Don't buy the automatic. In my opinion, it saps all the fun out of this car. The 4-speed auto just doesn't make up for the car's lack of power. The 5-speed manual, on the other hand, is a peach. Manuals have always been something Mazda does particularly well, and it definitely makes up for the lack of ultimate oomph and makes the car much more fun to drive. Plus the automatic is more expensive, heavier, and doesn't deliver as high fuel mileage.

Are there any other dealers around your area you could check? Obviously the one you've been going to doesn't value your business or the art of negotiation, so I would certainly go somewhere else.

yes, two other dealers. one has a liquid silver sport 5speed. the other a red 5speed sport. I am unsure of what color i want but i know its not red. Dealers around here for some reason want you to but off the lot, they dont like to get you the car you want. Last year i was ready to buy but backed out because the dealer would not get me a 5speed in green, kept pushing the auto on me so i walked. I might have to drive out of state to get waht i want, i like the new blue and liquid silver, already have a black car and truck and hate the maintenace on them, white is the color of my work van and company truck, lol...seems like i am a bit picky but i have to pay for it for 5 yrs i want a color i like.
