How much did u guys pay for your MSP out the door?

I fought to get mine just under $20,000. It wasn't easy and I had to restrain myself from buying at the first few prices they threw out there. It started at $21,000. I tried the old "I've got to sleep on it" method. It got them to lower another $500 on it and add a few extras.....Everything is negotiable so if you have to pay over MSRP try to get some free stuff. I asked for touch up paint, oil change discounts, and for them to take off every stupid dealer sticker they put on my MSP.

Guelph dealer actually, the only one in town
but thats the standard price though, how much were u told?

My quote worked out to be a few hundreds more than yours.
Please post the cost break down if possible. Thanks.

I wonder if I got the best deal here. A few notes about why you all got fooled into paying sticker price. I've bought 6 Mazdas from the same salesman over 11 years (family cars, etc). He said that all dealerships had the option of selling Mazdaspeeds, for a $12,000 dollar fee. He tried to convince me and my dad (at first) that we were going to have to pay $200 over sticker price because the profit margin is slow low on this car (which it is) and that they are barely making money. However, since we go way back, we got it down to $19050. After tax, licencse, all that, just over 20k. :D
I'm happy.

FYI: the Mazda's we've bought from our salesman:

1986 323
1992 Mazda Protege
1999 Mazda Miata (10th Anniversary- Storage for Winter)
1999 Mazda Protege
2000 Mazda Protege
2001 Mazda MP3
2002 Mazdaspeed

Everyone at the dealership is pitching for us to be in an ad at some point

I stopped by Earnhardt Mazda last night to pick up a part. They have 2 black and two spicy. I was checking out a black one that listed two options: Tint and a sound system (no details of the system) Price was 24,300. :wtf: I wanted to **** with a sales guy but the wife wouldn't have it. Is this happening all over the U.S.??

i wonder if they raise the price that people will actually think its a better car or something and buy it (if its more expensive, it MUST be better!:p )

$ 16,800 brand new, cash, no trade - no foolin!

Hail damaged car, though (ah HAH well THAT 'splains a few things...) Look at it this way - the "dimples" act like dimples on a golf ball - lower wind resistance! Or maybe like the cute dimples on a child... and yes, they're noticable and yes, they'd make a difference in resale (or allow me to FULLY JUSTIFY a carbon-fiber hood...:) ) but for this kind of performance and that kind of savings, I'm IN!

Crystal Mazda near Bridgewater NJ on Route 22 East of I-287 (Green something-or-other... is the town). They have 2 black ones left as of day-before-yesterday. Talk to Oscar, he was my sales guy.

Nope - wish it was just the hood - it's the rear deck, roof, and hood, with a few dings on the DS rear fender top and the DS doors to boot! The hail dings aren't bad, maybe 1/2mm deep and 0.5 - 1 cm across, but there are a lot of 'em. The side panel dings aren't much, really, but the roof and hood are pinged up pretty well (hence name = "ping"). To ME, it's no big deal - I'll eventually replace the hood and get the roof and trunk bumped out, and until then I don't notice them over the sound system, suspension, and those biggie wheels. For someone wanting to show their car, it'd be pretty bad. All depends on priorities; mine go more for performance. I did take some colleagues out to lunch today, they didn't notice until I pointed it out.

Negotiating Currently on 2003.5 MS Protege

I have a 01 ES and the MS protege caught my eye. I talked to the local dealer over the phone and he quoted me 20,500 - 500 for college discount. From what i'm reading here, that's a pretty good offer. I'm in retail sales and i know how the game goes (seeing some got it for 19,500, it's negotiable).

As far as extras, what type of negotiables are out there, paint, what's the extended warrenty?, etc.

Can't wait to test drive one, always wanted a 5 speed, gotta upgrade from the automatic ES.

Throw in a new exhaust and intercooler, Zooming over 200HP.

Let me know what you think. Thanks, Leejenison@yahoo.com

Everything and anything is negotiable! Just tell them what it takes for you to leave with the car. I named a price and some extras...they met me half way and I left the lot the next day in my MSP. It took alot of pushing but it happened!

Well I just got mine for 19,000. But I got a good deal without negotiating at all (lucked out by getting a huge discount because of the place I work!). With the exception of the APR! Had to negotiate there! They tried to say that all they could give us was 8.99%. We (my husband and I) told them they were nuts and they needed to work on it! We walked out of there with 5.9% I would have preferred better, but hey I also wanted the car!
