so im just wondering how much boost you guys are running and what mods you have. ill start lol..

i got a stock msp engine with a CAI, HKS bov, relocated MAF (on cold pipe), manual boost controller(with cockpit controller & a toggle switch to turn on and off) set to 8psi, apexi turbo timer, autometer boost/vac, and a autometer a/f gauge.

i usually run stock boost (6.5psi) and every now and then i turn up the boost to 8psi.

is what im running safe??

thanks :)

Well, I run usually 18-22psi on pump gas and methanol (fully built engine, obviously) but I have gone to 28 on 100 octane race gas and methanol spray, and I've hit my pre-set fuel cut at 32psi before when I was dinkin' around with the Haltech boost control settings. No problems.

ha that sounds like fun! :) my buddy was saying race gas is really bad for the engine. is that true?

i bought it from a buddy of mine. he has a 500hp+ accord lol and he said it leaks or something like that. its electronic.. it has a little knob kinding thing to adjust your boost then theres a toggle switch to turn it on or off..

i like it :)
this is what it kinda looks like...

Driving your car is bad for the car. LOL. No, seriously. It's not safe to run race gas unless you have the proper supporting mods. You have a great start, but if you don't have the proper EMS, then all the supporting mods aren't worth a damn. Same could be said about fully built engines - not trying to start anything, just saying. You could spend 20g's on your engine and still blows because you didn't have the proper ems and tuning.

lol i wasnt planning on running race gas anyways.. i was just wondering if what my buddy was saying it true..

maybe one day ill give it a try if i build my engine :P

Well, that's my point, you don't even need to build your engine to run race gas. A Unichip will allow you to run race gas.

I have I guess what you'd cal lthe "proper" supporting mods to run leaded race gas. No cats (barely a muffler at that!) and no emmissions equipment whatsoever. I mean none, even my EGR has been removed completely.... Obviously a full standalone as well.

what do you do when you gotta take the emmissions test?? do you put everything back on so you can pass?

don't you hit fuel cut...turning it up to 8 psi only with your mods...when i had those same mods i would always hit fuel cut...but now i am getting the right supporting mods to run 10 psi daily

tuning will solve fuel cut. if theres enough room to lean out the air fuel ratios, you can lower the voltage level on the maf sensor and prevent the sensor by seeing fuel cut. need some sort of engine management to cut down on the injectors duty cycle.
