How much boost can these engines take?

I totataly disagree with you turboge...but hey everyone is entitled to there opinions:rolleyes:

If you think that dyno chart is indicative of a good curve well....

I am not trying to sell out the MSP....it is a very capable car, and I agree its not a dragger, thats what the srt-4 is for.

I think anybody in there right senses (aftermarket community ) would agree with me when stating that the turbo is smallish and not the best suited for its application.

By the way this aint protege club so these:rolleyes:
are not necessary here;)

what you mean by "hot air" still a mazda should be happy to see other mazdas doing 13s specially a 88 model with stock internals and 186,000 miles on it,alot of people are impressed when i tell them about my bf's car ... well anyways you have a better chance in blowing your motor with higher compression cars. 9.1:1 is higher than most all motor cars, for a turbo car that is to high...

Yes its always nice to see the old ghetto mazdas tearing up the streets. People were amazed with my little 4 door.

But theres no problem with 9.1:1, thats not high at all. The cylinder pressures are a little higher but it just means you run less timing. For a turbo application it is usually better to have slightly lower compression, but it only comes into play when you are looking for different driveability types.

With low compression you get a very boggy motor off the line, but you can run a ton of advance and boost and keep cylinder pressures down. Higher compression you get a smoother revving motor, run less boost and less timing and still have good power.

I've got some dyno sheets of the 10:1 miata motor I tuned with a T3 running 10psi making 292rwhp. That thing ran like a champ.

i think the t25 is a good turbo i mean its basically the same turbo mitsubishi was putting on their gst and gsx which was also a 2.0 liter engine and getting 210hp at 12-14psi....i had 2 eclipses in the past a 90 and a 95 model on both we cranked the boost up to 16-18psi and both were runnin 13s and they both had over 100,000 miles on stock internals....i also have a friend with a 98 civic with the greddy turbo kit which uses a t25 and hes puttin 215 to the wheels which was a 72 hp increase after the turbo kit at 9psi

There's no sense in arguing with him Terry. That's why I just quit responding to him. He is the only one who knows anything about motors. I think he invented the reciprocating piston motor.

The greddy civic kit has a mitsubishi TD04-15g...not a t25. Also the 4g63 mitsubishi motor is much stronger then the mazda...it was made for boost. 8.5:1 compression (7.8:1 on the 1g dsm's) go along way to help it beable to do 16psi on 91 octane pump gas.

I own an eclipse..and trust me..the t25 is the smallest pos turbo on earth. It only flows 280cfm, the 1st gen dsm had a 14b which flowed 405cfm.

Even upgrading to a larger T28 (can find them used from a jdm silva) will be a huge upgrade in power.

If i modded a mazdaspeed, id be thinking forged internals, mitsu 20g or garrett t3/t4, larger injectors, and use the aem ems fuel computer. 400whp here i come.

What the hell are you guys talking about?! the T25 is the s***!!!!

'Morning Ben! Is your opinion a "+" or a "-" toward the T25 Turbo?

....just curious.
