How Many Wheels/Tires Do You NEED?

I've been doing pretty good lately and have finally got to the point where I only have two sets of wheels and two sets of tires. When things were the "worst" I had 4 sets of wheels and 5 sets of tires. Lately I've been tempted to buy some 17x8s for the 235 R-comps and use the current track wheels for some more aggressive 225 street tires so that I don't have to change wheels at the track but can still have fun.

But where does the madness end? What's your situation?

2 sets of stock wheels and 3 sets of tires....but I'm just getting started.

I have the Kumhos & Hoosiers on right now, and the Nokians are stacked in the garage. I'm not planning on getting that 3rd set of wheels until it's time to think about new summer tires.

It's not gonna happen now since I'm putting myself through college, but there's a future chance of a 4th set with wet radials for track days...

3 sets of wheels: stock, daily, snow
4 sets of tires: Falken Ziex (selling soon), Falken Azenis (current auto-x), Kumho V710s (next years auto-x), Hankook Winter iPike

We also have a full set of snows for my wife's car. I'll take a picture of the stack tonight, it's pretty funny.

I've cut back to two sets of wheels and tires

'stone re01r on 16" RPF1s for street
Kumho V710s on 15" Slipstreams for autox

Don't need winter wheels any more, that's what the Acura is for, yay! :)

At nationals this year, I will have a set of street tires on 16" wheels for towing, stock wheels with full tread 215/45/17 NT-01s for rain and two sets of Enkei RPF1 with shaved 235/40/17 NT-01s.

I think this falls under don't ask/don't tell?

5x114.3 bolt pattern (Mazdaspeed and P5)
1 set 16x6 stock P5 rims with street tires (P5 Daily)
1 set 16x6 Stock P5 rim Kumho V710's (P5 Race)
1 set 15x7 with Azenis
1 set 15x? with snow tires
1 set 17x7 stock MSP Rims bare
1 set 17x7 K1-TS with Hoosiers
1 set 18x8 with Kumho V710's (for the RX-8 I am co-driving this year)

4x100 bolt pattern (Miata)
1 set 14x5.5 stock miata wheels bare
1 set 14x5.5 steelies with snows (2 corded)
1 set 15x7 Falken rims with Kumho SPT's
1 set 15x7.5 Slipstreams (currently loaned to a friend)
1 set 16x7 (mixed rota and SSR) with azenis.

Also have tires unmounted.
1 set 235/40/17 RA-1's
1 set 205/40/17 hoosiers.

I think that is pretty much everything.

Do you have a spare aircraft hanger laying around to store all those ^^^

Those actually all fit in the spare bedroom (except for the MSP wheels that I have in my office at work) If I had a spare aircraft hanger I would have a few extra cars stored in it or something.

Wheels I've owned previously:
1 set of Mazda Millenia 9-spoke 15x6 with Kumho Victorarcers
1 set of Enkei RPM2 17x7

At my worst:
1 set of stock wheels
1 set of Rota Slipstreams 16x7 with Hankook VS2
1 set of Flik Lex 17x7 with Yokohama ES100
1 set of Milli Miglia Action 17x7
1 set of Rota Subzeroes 17x7.5
1 set of Drag DR-16 with 225/50/15 Kumho V710
1 set of take-off Toyo RA-1

Currently in the house:
1 set of stock P5 wheels with 205/45/16 Kumho SPT (Daily his)
1 set of stock MSP Racing Harts with 215/45/17 Kumho SPT (Daily hers)
1 set of Drag DR-16 with 225/50/15 Kumho V710
2 Rota Subzeroes with 245/45/17 Kumho V710
2 Rota Subzeroes bent
1 set of Milli Miglia Actions needing sanding and paint
1 set of take-off Toyo RA-1

I'm jonesing for either a wide set of 16s or another set of 17x7.5 for some wider street tires.

If you've never heard of Drag (which I hadn't either until i bought them) this is what they look like:
