How Do YOU wash your Mazdaspeed?

wooo.. I woke up super early to wash my car today. . I was out there at 9 with a hose and s***... hoping the sun wouldnt be out (it was over cast) and wouldnt you know it as soon as I sprayed my car with water,, SUN!!!!!!!!

its all good though.. I used a sponge today.. it works really good... I usually just use a rag,, but Im using the sponge for now on..

For my tires I like to use Meguiar's Hot Shine High Gloss Tire Spray. You can adjust the spray nozzle to low, medium, or high. What I like about it, is that it doesn't overspray and no leaks...really does leave a shine to your tires(2thumbs)

I use my 1750 psi Simoniz high-pressure washer. Takes every last spec of dirt off. Eagle 1 wax-as-you-dry stuff on the outside. Orange clean on the rims. I use water and a rag for the inside for the dust and then coat it with the Meguiar's stuff.

Chamois dry
Apply RainX on windows
Stare at car....damn

For protection, I use Zaino. 2 easy steps process. Wicked stuff. No residues. I don't think I've felt anything more slippery after application. Oh and the shine is so deep.

That's the cool thing about So-Cali, it rains here for like 2 hours a year.

Hey but anyway, I use Turtle Wax, works every time. I use it on my G-friend's black RSX (and black is the hardest color to take care of) and it doesnt show any spots. Apply after every carwash.

for the windows you could try using bartenders friend (or was it barkeepers?) its a powder that you mix with water and put on the windows, it works very very very well, got all the acid spots out of my friends windows.

works well for stainless steel too but godforbid you let that s*** drip down the side of your car. it'll scratch like a brick dragging along the side of it

yea that is a problem so you have to be VERY CAREFUL when using it, but it works very very well.

I thought you're not suppose to use sponge to wash the car because it'll leave light scratches or swirl on the car? Or is it the towel that leave the swirld on the car?

almost anything will leave scratches if you're not careful. the mits are the ones that i've heard the most about leaving scratches because they don't discard the crap your washing off as well as other cleaning devices.

new here but I have a good trick to get windows water spot free. go to hardware store and buy 0000 steel wool. don't buy anything other than 0000 (the finest stuff). It won't scratch the outside glass but obviously don't use it on the inside if you have tint.

ill try thoes sugestions, where do you get that powder stuff at? i aslo hate tree sap!

spots in paint

I have a '03 orange msp and there are these little black spots all over in the paint. It almost looks like road tar but it doesnt come off when i wash it. I guess it may a be a defect in the paint but i hope not i dont want to be with out my car. Any suggestions on products to use to try and get them out? thanks!

Also to not get water spots on your windows use any type of glass cleaner. ex windex or something. and use newspaper to clean your windows off. trust me newspapers dust free. Then put rain-x on all your windows after you clean them. Rain-x works great the water looks like it never even touches the window once you put the rain-x on.

I just got done washing and waxing my car, so here's my 2 cents:

If possible, do it on a cloudy day, but not one where it's gonna rain. That will give you some extra time to dry it so it doesn't do it on it's own and leave watermarks, esp. if you have hard water. Start out rinsing it down, obviously. To wash it, i use a sheepskin glove. make sure it's soaked through before starting to clean. The soft wool brings the dirt up away from the surface of the car, thus preventing swirls. Afterwards, dry it with a chamois cloth (make sure it's all the way wet and then wrung out). Again, it's absorbent and prevents swirls. Using windex or whatever on the windows keeps them all good. Regarding what type of soap to use, I'd recommend nothing with wax included. I had that, but after the first few uses, I've found that it leaves wax on the windows, which just creates extra work to take it off before rain-x'ing it.

Today was the first time i waxed my car and i just have to say it looks amazing. I used the Maguires (sp?) 3 step formula. Cleaning, polishing, waxing. I used a buffer to apply the stuff, and wiped it off manually with terry cloth. The finer the terry cloth, the better, but i wouldn't go with anything else. This took me the better part of the afternoon (washing, cleaning, polishing, waxing), so don't start the cleaning unless you have time for the rest. but if you do go all the way and get through the waxing, it looks amazing. i wish i had pics of before and after, but i didn't even think of it until i started the polishing...

that's all i have. hope it helps someone.
