How do you set the radio presets?

:
2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege
Exactly what the subject says. I've read the manual and it tells me nothing. All I could get it to do is auto preset. This goes through and searches the first station and stores it. Now what I want because half of the stations are no good. So how do you set up your own stations?

You're gonna feel stupid in about two seconds but...

try navigating to your channel, then press and hold the preset button you want to set that channel to. It will beep.

That is all my friend.

That is it. But you do that after you enter you secret passcode using the 1-6 preset buttons. The dealership should have given you your passcode.

chuyler1: Tried that. It was the first things I did.

Monster: I did not get any code. I called the dealership...they new nothing about how the thing works except that it flips up out of the way.

That's not how you preset the stereo in the MSP. That is how it works for the p5 and most cars but the kenwood headunit requires a PHD in stereo electronics to set the presets.

I can't remember how I did it but I believe that it is not in the menu, rather a button...screw it, I'm going outside to figure it out for you now.

i think hes talking about the msp stereo. if so theres a button marked pre set or something, press and hold that. then useing the << and >> arrows find the station you want to set. then press either the am or fm buttons to select what preset number you want it to be, then i think you have to press and hold the am or fm button to set. havent done it yet, i just use to direct button on the remote. hope this helps!

I was joking about the code. Sorry. :D

Oh and I think chuyler1 didn't pay attention to the fact that you have an MSP h/u and not a stock Protege one. Different working apparently. I'd give your dealership ten tons of s*** for not knowing anything about it.

Okay, I couldn't figure out how to individually preset each station. However, if you want to you can go to MENU then select AUTO PRESET for each FM Grouping.

FM 1 Low stations
FM 2 Mid stations
FM 3 High stations

You just select Auto Preset in the menu, then hold down the "forward" or "back" button and it will start picking up any channel in that range until it fills all the presets for each FM grouping.

Sorry I couldn't figure out how to individualy set them but it's not worth it considering how bad radio sucks.

put it on the channel you want, hold the button till it beeps and flashes, then press the same preset button again.

Give it a whirl or just read the manual. It will be with your owners info in the glove box :D

Reading is too easy. I like the challenge and to threaten my HU with a screwdriver when it doesn't do what I want it to do.
