what's the project? i wouldn't mind replacing the sprayer with a tiny camera for a reverse applications
Bingo. I removed the rear wiper already. I have the camera apart. Just trying to get it mounted.
i was about to do the same thing with a tiny camera i had....but i accidently f'ed up a solid state piece and it broke off, so it is totally busted now.
but the more i thought about it the more i couldnt figure out what kind of cable to use to go from the lense all the way back up to the dash for a screen, and what i would do to get 12volts down to whatever the camera would need. im sure if i had enough time and resources i could do it but it's on hold for now
you should do a "how to" when you're done
I had to remove the spoiler to take apart that box. Quite easy to remove. 2 10mm bolts on each side, and one 10mm nut in the middle.
I have two different types of cameras. Both are the type that mount to your license plate. They have some infrared LEDs around them to help with night vision.
I took them apart and can fit them in that box very easily. I can also run the wires quite easily to that point as well.
I have to run some trials and get the mounting 100%
yea...pretty much what i wanted to do as well. only i had a little pos video camera i got from iraq during deployment (they have the shittiest cheap knockoffs over there, of EVERYTHING). it worked but it wasn't worth recording anything with it's frame rate and crappy res, so i half assed wanted to make it into a rear view camera. only wanted to do it that way cuz i didn't feel like buying one of those license plate ones that you are using
but i do thing the mount would do better up higher where the rear washer nozzle is than it would where the plate is. that way you can actually tell distance instead of if it just looking close enough, and a fisheye would really mess that up if pointed straight on. kinda tough to describe without pics
