How do I improve start up performance

Whenever I start my car it sounds like s***. There is nothing wrong with it, it just sounds weak and lame and it takes a couple seconds for the engine to actually start once I have the key turned.

I want to be able to turn the key and hear nothing but "vroom".

What can I do to make this happen? ... performance spark plugs and wires? A different ECU setup?

Help!

there is something wrong with it if it takes a few seconds to start!

It sounds like any other normal car that I hear start up. Its like the ignition turning over or something and than it starts. I want instant gratification.

Yea, basically I don't know how to isolate the problem so I was just gunna put in a high performance battery, wires, spark plugs and see what happens.

I might put in some new injectors and fuel rail and than a programable ECU, so when I turn the key... "vroom"

I am not really looking for speed, just an impressive start up.

You should get a push button ignition. There was a member that made those, forget who he is though.

are you serious?

I don't think there's anything wrong with your car. The starter has to turn the engine over a couple of times before it starts.

my 02.5 turns right over. I've never put a stopwatch to it, but I would guess it's between a quarter to three quarters of a second.

how do you mean better? like louder?
i'm not understanding how a car like this turning on could get very impressive? a muscle car or something with a v8 sure, but a 4 cylinder? I like how mine sounds i just have an intake and an exhaust the intake "hisses" really loud while the muffler kinda growls quietly thats the only way i could think of changing how you car sounds on start up

Put in a red top Optima battery, and new plugs. That may help. Higher octane fuel may also help. If you are using the gas from the 90 year old dirty gas station, try some name brand 93 octane. See if that helps.

from what i understand using 93 over 87 octane isn't really gonna help anything cuz the car was designed to run on 87 grade gasoline
