I went through all of this too. Is your connector intact in the trunk? Are you hooking up the stock kenwood sub to an after market head unit? You'll need to find a blue wire with a white tracer on it behind your head unit, that should go all the way to the connector in the trunk. Look in your owner's manual for the aftermarket headunit and hook the "Remote Turn-on" wire to that blue/white wire. Also make sure that your yellow wires on the connector have good contact with the battery (should be fused).
