Hmmm, is VW rippin Mazda off?

How in the world does that car look like a MS3? Other than having similar wheels and a hatchback...that is it. The person who started this post was either just born yesterday - in the back of an MS3 - or really has little knowledge of general car design and automotive history.

The R32 is/will be a great car when it comes out. Completely in a different league than the MS3 for so many reasons. Price, AWD, DSG transmission, exhaust sound, fit and finish - not to mention the ability to retain a strong resale value - something hard to find in most VW's. As far as quality goes, these MS3's have been far from perfect - I, like many others, have just finished tightening that loose rear sway bar nut on mine to get rid of that annoying clunk.

Don't get me wrong I love my MS3 - everything about it. Stop with these silly pissing matches and go out and (drive).

Yeah but its probably lighter, has all wheel drive, and more torque down low with the N/A V6 as opposed to the Turbo 4. One of these R32s will have no trouble with an MS3 I'm afraid.

Im afraid that it probably isnt lighter, with all wheel drive and a v6 that since its veedub its probably cast iron, I sense an equal if not heavier rival for us. The only advantage is the DSG, which I think is lame even though its the wave of the future. With that power, DSG, and AWD Im honestly shocked it sayes 6.4 0-60 even if underestimating it, I dont think they would add a whole second, which is what I would thinik it would get (5.4), with the DSG you cant say its the drivers fault either. Either way Ive always been a fan of the r32s, I did beat one without a problem on the freeway a while back though. (upyours) It is funny though how the car world seems to be turning into its new competition :) The new WRX shocked me when I saw it on magazine covers, they shouldnt have lost the fender flares as much as they did, thats what they had going for their style....

Did you see the STI version? New WRX = Kia Fugly. New STI = right on.

Umm, hardly any turbo lag or drag and far from boring. Only noobs who can't drive would complain about turbo lag in this car. Nice try though.

The speed3 has more utility, better looks (IMO) and is faster. I could care less if the VW has a nicer interior. For that price, I'd rather have a g35 or 350z.

In case you were too high on your pwn horse, engine drag is your engine dragging on the highway. ;) And you can't deny that a turbo car has turbo lag. Even just if it's a little.
I agree VWs are priced out of their range.

hasn't the mkV gti been out longer than the 3, thus making it impossible for VW to be ripping off mazda? the wheels on the US r32 shown do look similar though, that's about it

VERY similar...I like the way the vw looks, but the cost will more than likely be northe of 32K.

Yeah my engine will drag and still own a GTI. ;) Plus I'll take a chance on a Mazda over a VW any day, mount problem and all. And in case english isn't your first language, I'll repeat so it'll sink in. This car has hardly any turbo lag. Never said it didn't have any.
