I put this elsewhere, but I'm afraid it'll get lost, hence this thread.

Installed my HKS Type 1 on Sunday. The rpm pickup is working, which is nice, but I can't figure out how to make the shift indicator function work.
I also used the solid red wire as opposed to the red/black wire. If I don't turn the key very quickly to the off position, the car shuts off. The countdown does its thing, but the car is not running. Even if I am quick, there is a serious stumble then the car catches and keeps running. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, does it not do it if you use the red/black wire?

Got the shift indicator working. I couldn't figure out how to exit the setup mode, so I just left the rpm that I set it to flashing and after what seemed like a couple of minutes it went back to the normal display. My rpm display is not the same as that on the tach and is not a consistent amount off, but appears to be percentage based. In other words, it isn't always, say, 200 rpm different, but increases as the rpm increases. At idle it's almost identical, but by shift point under hard accelleration it is a few hundred different.
I have not yet tried switching to the red/black wire to see if it clears up the problem with the car trying to shut off. It should only take a few minutes, so maybe I'll do it during lunch today.

Son of a b**** bastard I am so pissed off right now.
I swapped to the other wire and not only was it no better, the system kept resetting itself as if I had just installed it every time I turned the car off.
Put it back to the original configuration and it appears that I blew something out, because I can no longer make it go into learn mode. I get 2000 to show up but I cannot get it to flash so I can teach it how many cylinders the car has. God damn it! I hope to hell I'm doing something incorrectly and didn't blow it up.
