HKS SSQV Question

How many people out there are runnin this in vta mode and is ur car havin any major issues? I've got the forge right now but i really like the hks sound and look so any input would be appreciated. Thanks

This car needs to be run in recirculation mode. VTA sounds neat but the car has already compensated for the air that you will not be putting back into the system. You will receive poor gas mileage and usually a lot of backfires <because of the extra fuel the ecu adds>

im running the hks vta, it sounds bad ass and my car runs perfect besides for a backfire every once and a while, im getting 19 miles to the gallon so dont listen to importracer cauase he clearly doesnt run the hks VTA... it all depends how you drive, in between shifts its rich for a split second, thats it. which cuases the backfires every once and a while. no problems whatsover, but im looking at getting rid of mine for the turbo xs rfl... becuase louder is better in my opinion

Yeah i know lol but if its only runnin rich between shifts it ain't too big of a deal. I'm backfirin still anyway with my forge haha the ssqv sounds so ****** sick!!! And sterling, gas mileage has NEVER been good with this car lol

i like loud BOVs AAmguy, so no im not kidding, and from what i hear, the turbo xs rfl is as loud as i can get...

and strytnyne, if ur getting 29 id take ur car to the mazda headquarters and show them and you might win a million dollars because they say between 18-22 stock.

the rfl is also a huge pile of sh!t....its one of the worst valves u can get.

its leaks really really bad. but whatever, u go and get your loud bov.

maybe he means 29 highway. my g/f got 31 for a 5hr trip. she's got the cobb sfi, CS cbe and race pipe, and a forge bpv.

well yea, driving back to buffalo from michigan i can get like 28 29 on the highway for long distance cruising at like 80. haha but thats not saying much..

and aamguy, whats the loudest BOV i can get thats still effective? turbosmart megasonic? greddy type s?

Gas mileage sucked on the stock car but once I freed up its breathing I got pretty great mileage. I average 22-26 in town <depends how much I get on it> and I have seen 33 for extended freeway travel.
