HKPRO5's Supercharger Build Thread

I did the high heat paint on my stang's h pipe and 3 trips and 130 miles later it is still curring but I will be able to vouch for the quality here in a week or so. Mine was rusted and if I was going to spend any money i was going to replace it. So we will see. Looks good. RGN.5ASN has that same style header on his P5 and he wants to get rid of it. He had it coated red and it has a white fade to pink now and he dose not like the sound either. I would have ran it with a dorrerent cat back and it may have got rid of some of the rasp. Waiting to see....

Hey man it looks like ill be purchasing my supercharger soon :) hopefully within the upcoming week.

Finished 90% of the exhaust today. Picked up all the gaskets from Napa, Welded the O2 bung, The other 10% is to get the flange that goes from the end of the header to the bigger pipe. (goes from 2"-2.5") That and get the last two pieces together to compete the muffler side.

Also painted the top part of the headers.

nice, make sure you cure that paint in the oven or on the car like it says too...i had that stuff (VHT Flameproof) on my old turbo manifold, held up pretty good, i just hope you sanded the s*** or sandblasted that manifold before you painted it. If not it may chip off in the unsanded places

Yea I did some sanding 1500grt. Wiped it with acetone, and heat cycled it.

It should hold up pretty good. I also did the EGR line as well.

Flared some of my piping, kept blowing off with the new piping setup.

Also picked up a HKS BOV. Hopefully the bov is the only problem.

I cant wait to get the exhaust in. GRRR....

let me know when its all done so we can do a meet/BBQ/Cruise!!!! Want to see you and Tom line up=)

yeah the BOV that came with the kits where crap, I am going with synapse with my current build on the rx-8, also to help with the couplers blowing off get some cheap hair spray, it works great!!!!!

Do you ever plan to NOT have the SC functioning? If so, do you have a dual map for that purpose?

You could get away with one map if it's load based. I mean think about it, if you're running a boosted car at 1psi at 5000 rpm, it's not going to be running the injectors the same length of time as say at 12 psi and 5000 rpm. If it did, there'd be no reason to ever tune the car. You're pretty much just set for WOT use.

I don't have it running at all. Only when I need the power. I have the SSAFC installed, it is load based to make fuel injector changes only when it's in boost.

can you show me how you have it externally switched? because i think that if i run with low enough boost, the mp3 flash runs rich enough that it would provide enough fuel when its engaged, and still is okay to run disengaged.

im not gonna get a ssafc, at least not for a while. i will probably just get my ecu reflashed at mazda for free to the msp map.

The way that the SC work is unlike a turbo. The fuel map from an msp will be too lean in the lower RPM range. Too lean means blown motor.

BUT if you do that you MUST get a wideband o2 gauge.
