hittin fuel cut at stock boost.....anyone else???

Well...my point was that Ford bean counter are still in control here, regardless of what parts are on the car, or who was involved in building the car. Whether it was Mazda/MazdaSpeed/Racing Beat, or the Callaway brothers...when it comes down to it, the Ford Motor Company is the one making the financial decisions. They are the ones cutting back the warranty budget. That is the reason it is so hard to get our cars fixed properly under warranty. At any rate, back on topic, When Greddy finally gets around to installing my new exhaust, will that help this problem, because I will have less back pressure? Should I be replacing my converters with a better flowing downpipe as well? (no cats) Finally, will the Greddy Profec B Spec II they are also supplying me with soon help this problem? I know it controls the turbo more effeciently, and I have heard it spools faster when controlled with one of the Electronic Valve Controllers (or EBC's). If this stuff doesn't work, I will just have to be patient and wait for a standalone engine management to be finalized, huh? Thanks for any input!
Everything you are mentioning will make fuel cut worse. It cust based on airflow- larger exhaust, more boost, no cats, etc. all INCREASE airflow. That is what I made the FCD for. The HKS one does not work on our cars- unless there is a new one I am not familiar with. Going standalone with a stock turbo and stuff is not the best idea- if you can't tune the car around the stock stuff- a standalone is a whole new can of worms :).

That is what I was afraid of. If this isn't really fuel cut, but more of a spark cut or pre-detenation/hesitation type of problem...do you think the Greddy Profec B Spec II might help? It is supposed to make the boost spool faster and control it all around better. Also, does anyone on this Forum know when the stupid engine management units will be ready? I keep reading threads about stand alone units, but noone seems to have dates of when they will go on sale, nor the final/group pricing. We need a comparison thread for all of them. Or perhaps we can add it to the sticky with the aftermarket parts guide!!

No, it is fuel cut- but fuel cut is based on actual airflow, not a specific PSI. You increase airflow and regardless of psi, it will cut. The Profec II does NOTHING but control boost, it will do nothing for fuel cut and as mentioned, it wil be worse since you are going to be turning the boost up. As I have mentioned, my FCD will prevent this from happening. I just don't carry it anymore as a normal item. If you wanted one, it would be a special order item.

I don't know what ECU threads you have been reading- I don't follow the MSP anymore, however- I know a lot of people who have been looking into it bailed on the project for various reasons. I heard Corksport was working on something though if you want to go that route. It is not 100% necessary at mild boost levels with the stock turbo and such and if you don't know how to tune or what you are doing, it will actually make your car slower or give you a good opportunity to blow it up :). However, if you are looking for the absolute most out of the car and plan on high boost, larger turbo, etc, it will be a great tool.
