that i own is sick
i was driving tonight and i hit fuel cut, damn ebc is spikin crazy. so i stoped driving for a while and when i got back into my car my a/f gauge was lean the whole drive home. it would go lean and then nothing and lean again and then nother. what i was wondering is do you think it is the gauge that is acting up or what? my car is fine everything is straight, turbo spoolin fine. i put my ebc on low boost and im going to go check it out in a little bit to see how she is doing but i was just wondering what you think.

thanks scott

What kind of ebc? I have a greddy profec b 2 and it requires alot of tuning. If the temps outside get colder at night then it is possible to hit fuel cut because of cooler temps. FCD will eliminate this. I am currently running a mbc from boost sciences and it is great. Still have greddy installed, but not hooked up. As soon as I get time I'll play with the ebc again. So you could get a mbc and fcd for now and wait until a later date to tune the ebc. I'm just lazy and impatient to tune my ebc right now. Sorry Cullen at Street Unit I'll have my ebc running shortly. HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY.............

No. i dont know why, but i have a greddy profec A boost controller and it doesnt require any tuning! its great!

yeah but my a/f gauge is still readin lean and i dont know why, anyone have any idea why?

cause if you dident go out and buy a wideband o2 sensor.. A/F gauges dont work on a turbo car.... get rid of it and get an EGT. (Exhaust Gas Temperature), that will help you much more in keeping an eye on the A/F ratio

That is completely not true.

I have an EGT, but I would never use it by itself to read A/F.

WBo2 + EGT + knock detector = the best way to monitor your engine when upping boost or tuning.

bump, no one knows why this happening?

You say that there is no loss in performance at all? You don't notice any lean popping at idle or anything? Is your gauge lean at all times, or just at certain times?

Where is the gauge tapped into? At the PCM, or at the o2 sensor under the hood? I would check the connection either way.

i dont notice any popping at idle and its been lean for like 2 days now. it goes to stoich once in a while but its mostly at lean or nothing at all and im starting to get bugged out like something is wrong.
I tapped into the o2 sensor under the hood i checked the connection it looked fine to me

Have you been boosting since the problem started?

Sounds like a faulty gauge to me... must've broke somehow.

do not try to drive through fuel cut bad things will happen.....TRUST ME im on my 2nd motor

i've stayed on low boost since it happened, i might try to crank it back up to 10 tonight but i dont know. I hope its the gauge and not something else
