the politicians want you to believe that this is not another vietnam. it's definitely not. but the similarities are there. i know a few vietnam vets who faced teh same troubles as our soldiers now. he was walking along and a farm girl was tending her rice field, and when the company walked past her after she smiled and gave a thumbs up, she pulls out an AK-47 and blast the crap out of them.
these events day in and day out led to things like the my lai massacre, where an innocent town got executed. but then again, in the heat of battle and in the face of constant attack, stuff like this WILL happen.
whatever the video doesn't show, we will never know. we probably won't know till much later after this war of things that occur over there. until then, let's hold judgement on what the troops are or aren't doing.
and to ghost's statement about it's not our job to judge who the enemy is... well, the people of iraq have lived through one terror. are we the next? are we going to indiscriminately shoot iraqi's? remember, it's a select FEW who are against us. the majority of the iraqi people are innocent bystanders. let's not forget that they, too, are people.
