Hid

I'm unsure of what mod to do to fit another bulb size, but given the way it slips in, and I'm also unsure of how much wattage to put on them. I went with 55 watt bulbs, and I ripped the little metal loops out of the foglight housings, which helped greatly. The only thing the fogs glare on are ants on the concrete. And that's OK by me.

HID's would be the best if you want very bright lighting, but the 55W Hellas were OK by me. Not yellow enough for me, though! Like a golden-ish color.

You may also want to crank the fogs up about a 1/4 inch.. It will aim the lights to the front of the car instead of the ground where the factory decided to put them.

Now I need a how-to. I didn't even know you could align the fog lights.

If you check that link, the bulbs come with the portion that needs to be removed marked on them. The manufacturer can't sell them modified but they can make it as easy as possible for you to do it yourself.

Mid, you should see the white adjustment screw when your down there looking at the rear of the foglight.. I use HIDs in mine and was sort of bummed out when i saw very little light in the front. Once i cranked em up 1/4 inch, the results were worth it.

I couldn't see crap when I worked on the foglights...Of course I didn't have any lift or jack, and I just stuffed my hands in behind the bumper and worked that way.

I wish I could adjust the fogs easily...I bet I have to lift the car and put it on stands, don't I...??

FYI that is NOT correct:

The Lows are H7
The Highs are 9005
The Fogs are 9006

I installed Sylvania Silverstar ULTRA bulbs in the Lows, with excellent results (close to HID)

I also installed Hella Yellow bulbs in the Fogs, with excellent results as well.

I highly recommend yellow fogs, it makes a lot of difference to me.

I read that the lows were D2s.

Can someone clear this up for me? I am buying a single HID kit for my lows and want to make sure I buy the right ones.

Thanks

has any one with GT replaced the high beam bulbs? I have been thinking about doing mine. When comparing the high beams to the low beam HID the highs are worthless and look really yellow.

I dont want to go with an HID kit, since i rarely actually use the highs. any bulb recomendations?

How is the replacement of the fog light bulbs? I wan to go for the yellow fogs seeing as how people have stated they improve actual fog visibility compared to the regular stockers.

How did that 50W kit turnout as far as light output goes?

~1000–1200 lumens for traditional 55Watt Halogen
~1500 lumens for Silverstars (Halogen)
~3200 lumens for 35 Watt HID
~4700-5000 lumens for 55 Watt HID
